Title: Progressive beat Foremost ...... Post by: DoubleEagle on April 17, 2011, 09:32:21 PM I was shocked, I belong to AARP and called Foremost for a quote on my 3 bikes.
I had been reading on other Forums that Foremost was beating most Insurance Company Motorcycle Quotes. Same coverage , Progressive was $400 less per year than Foremost quoted. Although , Foremost has the better Roadside Assistance. Their's will cover a Tow from where ever to the nearest Dealership for repair , whereas Progressive only covers a certain distance for a tow which the one time I needed a tow I used my Ducati Roadside Assistance and it only covered something like 50 miles and I was 80 miles from the Dealership. Progressive wouldn't have covered as many miles as Ducati. I paid the difference in the case of the Ducati Roadside Assistance. Dolph [moto] Title: Re: Progressive beat Foremost ...... Post by: the_Journeyman on April 18, 2011, 06:11:40 AM Funny thing - GEICO beat 'em all for me. Even Allstate sent me a "we can save you money" letter. I took the letter & my GEICO policy to and office and said "prove it, and you'll have my business." Allstate still fell a couple hundred higher.

JM Geico sends me letters all the time and the two times I called them to find out about rates to insure my 1098 they came out over a grand higher then state farm. The lady started telling me that state farm doesn't go by performance blah blah blah and got defensive about it. That isn't my problem now is it? Title: Re: Progressive beat Foremost ...... Dolph [moto] That's kinda surprising. I went through the price-compare thing about 3 years ago and Foremost was significantly lower than the 3 or 4 others I priced. I've got 4 fairly new big bikes insured with them with full coverage minus UM and my renewal was $386 total. A lot depends on how each insurance company categorizes a given bike. I actually switched when I bought my FJR. Most had it listed as more of a sport bike. Foremost had it as a touring bike and was over $125/yr lower (just for the FJR) than the next lowest. I am considering adding a Diavel sometime in the future. Adding it to my "flock" would only cost another $85/yr. Title: Re: Progressive beat Foremost ...... Post by: Heath on April 18, 2011, 08:54:09 AM Insurance varies too much by person, driving record, location, company, bike... For me foremost was way lower then progressive. Allstate was about the same as progressive. Statefarm was a little more then foremost even with my loyalty, good driver and multi policy discount I have with them.
I like to keep them separate anyways. Title: Re: Progressive beat Foremost ...... Post by: DesmoDiva on April 18, 2011, 08:55:37 AM We just insured our SBKs with Foremost (AARP rate).
They beat Progressive (who we have our cars with) by $600. [moto] Title: Re: Progressive beat Foremost ...... Post by: duccarlos on April 18, 2011, 09:12:28 AM Foremost also covers the bike during track days.
Title: Re: Progressive beat Foremost ...... Post by: ab on April 20, 2011, 06:44:50 PM wow, i need to check what the towing mileage covers for progressive.
I have had to tow my monster before due to flat tire and used my friends AMA for like 35 miles and then his father met us with his pickup for another 40 miles trip. I ensure a motor swapped 2005 Honda Ruckus, and my 2010 M696 for $140 a year combined. That covers fire and theft, no PIP since I have good health covereage. I can't imagine what is costing so much? I have geico btw.

They might also choose to have significantly higher coverage limits because they have more to lose then you might. Regardless, any and all insurance threads are fairly worthless as has already been said. Limits, coverages, towing, no towing, your zip code, your credit history, your age, your driving record, your vehicle(s), if you own a home or not, how long you have been with the same insurance company, etc, etc, etc...all factor into the price. Title: Re: Progressive beat Foremost ...... Post by: Veloce-Fino on April 20, 2011, 09:42:32 PM Foremost also covers the bike during track days. This is a big + in my book. I have foremost as well. I'm playing ~450/yr for full coverage on the 696. Next closest was riders at $1200/yr |
