Title: touring with a passenger. luggage rack or other tent storing options? Post by: live2ride on April 18, 2011, 07:51:34 PM plan to tour with the wife, 2 up. we want to camp but i'm having trouble figuring out where to pack the tent. its your garden variety size (22"x7"x7")
is there a luggage rack option? i have a 2000 m750. We have checked and we are able to pack everything else in the saddlebags and tankbag but the tent has no where to go. suggestions? or anyone know of a tent that is less than 15" long? edit: to make things more difficult, its got a tail chop Title: Re: touring with a passenger. luggage rack or other tent storing options? I did a few trips on my '99 M750. I didn't have saddlebags, so I needed a big-ass mountaineering backpack. :P Now, I use a smaller alpine style climbing pack, and it doesn't really hinder me at all. Post by: Moronic on April 19, 2011, 08:06:18 PM that one is pretty interesting I have one, it is beautifully engineered and very solid. Mounts vertically or horizontally, from bosses wedged between frame and grab-bars. When horizontal, not ideal as a rack because it is curved and slopes slightly rearward, but would carry a tent such as yours no problem whatsoever. i actually decided to fabricate a rack instead. if it holds up for the duration of the trip, i'll share my rig. if not, i'll pretend it never happened. Post by: CETME on April 22, 2011, 06:29:06 PM Yeah, just any old thing will work. I made this rack for my Nighthawk. I rode the thing two up from FL to AZ and back with no problems, and we carried everything we needed.
