Title: Hunt for the right Belly Pan
Post by: SwampMonster on April 18, 2011, 09:02:00 PM
I am in the market for a good looking belly pan for my 95' m900 any suggestion would be appreciated. Anyone have anything to say about the belly pan from Skidmarx. Thanx in advance.

I just got one from italmotoparts on Ebay. It was under $100 with the bracket kit. I'm happy with it.

Were you able to specify year, make and model. I went to the eBay store and was unable to find the one for my bike a 95' m900. Thanks for the input.

It should fit the 95, mine is a 97 m750. I had to do some creative fabricating on the mounts, but it ended up working for me.

Found it on the ItalMoto website: http://www.italmotoparts.com/index.php?cPath=2_5 (http://www.italmotoparts.com/index.php?cPath=2_5)

Here's the Skidmarx site: http://www.skidmarx.co.uk/section/bellypans/v_twin/other.html (http://www.skidmarx.co.uk/section/bellypans/v_twin/other.html)  (Don't think I've seen a monster with one of theirs yet though)

Couldn't pass it up at that price from Italmoto. Should be on it's way shortly. Can't wait to get it in my hands and do the install. Thanks a ton Qube and Mojo for the assist.

I got one like the ItalMoto link above back in the day from RedRacing.  Wish I had sprung for carbon - the price from Monster Parts / Motowheels and many others really isn't that much more from my memory (things may have changed though).

The Ilmberger version of the same has an extra naca style duct on the front 'face' which is pretty cool, but there's is wildly more expensive... ho hum.

i've got a dp 'long' oil-catching style bellypan for the project bike (partly in case it shats itself after i'm done putting it back together / fooling with the motor's innards)

I ordered a belly pan from Italmotoparts and it arrived in a crushed box with a nice crack down the side.  I couldn't believe how poorly the fairing was packed.  I contacted them and requested a replacement and that's when the games began.  They told me the package was insured by the Post Office and to "handle it on my end".  I went to the Post Office, It wasn't insured so I went to a second Post Office and had them certify my receipt stating that it wasn't insured.  I mailed the fairing back and requested a refund.   All I wanted was a replacement fairing or a refund but what I have is an open dispute on PayPal.  I'll pay the money and deal with Monsterparts next time.  I would not recommend dealing with Italmotoparts.com
