Anyone here have any experience with this stuff?
http://www.transair-usa.com/ (http://www.transair-usa.com/)
Im looking at it for my shop and I met with the local distributor for this stuff yesterday and got to look it over.
It looks awesome and the fact that you can take it apart and reconfigure/modify it easily is great as well.
Waiting to hear back on price though. . .
Either get out the vaseline...
or make sure you're sitting. ;)
Let us know what pricing is like.
High pricing doesn't necessarily scare me away if it seems justified.
Oh I will. I could just run rubber hose and be done with it, but rubber hose looks like ass (not to mention pressure drop and also did I mention it looks like ass?)

Soldered copper might be cheaper if you have the skillz...and doesn't look like ass.
Based on your welding I bet you could do it easy.
Probably.
And copper does look great.
However, it's not as easy to reconfigure or take apart.
And I'm told it's more expensive right now to buy copper over the alum. . .
But you know what they say.
We used RapidAir when we redid our lube bay at the carwash I co-owned. It wasn't that expensive and worked better than the PVC we used before.
I just googled RapidAir. The plastic wouldn't work for me - not heavy duty enough.
However, their hard piping looks identical to the Transair setup.
There is a price list on their website as well. 20' x 3/4 pipe is $40, T's and Ell's are in the $20 range and wall mount NPT ports are $13ish.
Interesting.

I took the middle road...
1/2" copper does everything I need and it wasn't too much as my shop is pretty small.
I don't disagree, copper would probably work fine.
I am also in the situation where my shop has to look clean and cool (as in 8) )
Long term goals are medical, aerospace, fda and nuclear. Those guys often place visual a little higher than us commoners. There are also concerns about contamination on machined parts (scale from inside the air lines) which the alum (and copper) would negate.
Part of the admission to the boys club ;)
