Title: 2006 S4RS 1000 Issues with tail light
Post by: Duc Raider on April 19, 2011, 02:58:33 PM
Hi everyone,
I'm new to this forum.
I recently got my 1st S4R Monster and it seems to have no working tail light ever since we unloaded it, however the plate light is clearly working, and all other lighting, as supposed to.
Could anyone of you experts help me out with this and tell me what to look for 1st, before I have to rewire everything or have to have it serviced again?
I bought it from a Ducati dealer who assured me that the bike was serviced and tuned before I bought it.
The Duc has many mods to it and a short tail (this might be the issue with the wiring).

Thanks in advance and - nice forum! [thumbsup]

Does the brake light work?  Start with easy/cheap first.  Are you getting 12 volts to the bulb?  Is the bulb good?  Is the contact touching the bulb?  The gray/red wire should be the tail light.

Since the dealer said all was good a trip back to the dealer may be a good idea (assuming the brake light works and the dealer is not two days away).

Doh, excuse my manors.  WELCOME TO THE BOARD [beer]

the bulb has two filaments - one can go bad while the other works.  I woudl start there for about $2.00
