Seems strange to me it's just sittingthere loose, some sort crank case vent? New to bike mechanics here....

I'm just wondering, no real reason... Probably in the FSM, I should page though and find it.
It looks like your crankcase breather has come apart. Still under warranty?
It sits where it should until I move it. Just seems strange it doesn't click together or clamp down or something. Is it supposed to be like that?
Yes still under Warrenty.
2009 monster.
So is it broken?
Yes, that's broken.
Huh... Any after market ones? I'd rather just replace it then haul it down to the dealer.
I take it it's supposed to be one peice, bolt down and have the hose clamp to it?
I've not seen an aftermarket one with that one-bolt configuration.
Doesn't mean there aren't any available....
Earlier Duc motors, the breather threaded in, like these:

Shit OEM is 75.00 bucks. I think some rubbing alcohol and gorilla glue might be a first attempt at fixing. Or should I used silicon? Then drive to dealer on a nice day for a Warrenty replacement.
Well I bit the bullet and bought a new one. Whats the easiest way to gain access to this so I can take it off? My hand can't fit as it sits.
Next time I'll do Warrenty just didn't want to hassle with it since it might be related to my
Recent fall (don't see how but anyway).
ebay has em for under 20$.
get a silicone strap wrench like this
(http://www.webbikeworld.com/ducati-motorcycles/gt-1000/oil-change/klein-strap-wrench.jpg)
from a hardware store, they dont need to be torqued down super hard.
edit: I guess the new ones dont thread in? weird, ball head allen looks like your best bet?

Ya new ones are PITA, none on eBay and I already tried 2 sets of allens. Might buy a small 1/4 sized socket set of allens because I can fit a small socket wrench in there easy. Otherwise the whole seat might need to be moved to fully get to it.
