Title: tail chop and new tail light Post by: Privateer on April 21, 2011, 01:35:52 PM while I was doing final drive, i decided it was time to chop.
(http://img38.imageshack.us/img38/7608/newtail.jpg) (http://img38.imageshack.us/i/newtail.jpg/) I used the http://www.ducatimonstertailchop.com/fender-eliminatortail-chop/ (http://www.ducatimonstertailchop.com/fender-eliminatortail-chop/) shorty and a tail light I ordered at the local shop (http://www.cyclecitymotorsports.com/ (http://www.cyclecitymotorsports.com/)) It's not perfect, but it works. Unless someone is going to bust out a caliper and measure it, it's fine. And until I get a chop saw and a drill press, it's fine. making a mount for the light with some aluminum stock and a hacksaw/hand drill was something I don't want to go through again (after doing it twice today when I eff'd up the first one). I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out, but I think the oval tail light goes with the oval signals and the other curvy lines of the bike. it's pretty bright too. works prefect with my suprabrake flasher module. Apparently there are some italian made shells I could've gotten but these were free. They barely fit as it was, but one can work wonders with a hammer and tin snips. |
