Title: Finally finished Lucille! Post by: eyduc on April 23, 2011, 12:38:57 PM Well after a long winter wrenching, I finished my S2R project, Lucille. I still need to do some final tuning on the reflashed ECU, but she rides awesome! Just prior to my maiden ride, I chopped the S4R Termis down to 10" and installed a Sparks mid-pipe.

Title: Re: Finally finished Lucille! Post by: TitanMonsterS4R on April 23, 2011, 02:45:27 PM very clean. what wheels are those?
Title: Re: Finally finished Lucille! Post by: eyduc on April 23, 2011, 03:31:06 PM Thanks! The rear is from a Hypermotard S; forged. It is lighter than the front which is a stock 5 spoker. The matching front won't fit my front end. I may update it at a later date. I'm out of funds and just plan to ride it now as it is. It's my first Duc and wow, do these Termis have bass! With the open dry clutch cover and the open belt covers, it is a huge assault on the ears and eyes. What an assault it is! I've been through a lot of bikes (all Hondas) but this is a planned keeper!
Title: Re: Finally finished Lucille! Post by: csorin on April 23, 2011, 03:42:37 PM Oh heck yeah that thing looks awesome. You definetely had a productive winter. Especially like how you handled your triple. Dig the matte black front fender with the red tank and rear cowl. So how do you like the ride with the new showa rear shock and clip-ons?
Title: Re: Finally finished Lucille! Post by: dark_duc on April 23, 2011, 03:48:02 PM Looks great! Nicely done [thumbsup]

Did the rear tire just bolt up or did you have to mod it a bit to get everything to work? Just curious. I've finished phase I of Bella but phase II might be some nice wheels/other mods.... Title: Re: Finally finished Lucille! Post by: eyduc on April 23, 2011, 04:32:19 PM Thanks again! Yeah, I like the front fender better than the stocker. SBK style! Oh, the ride is nice and supple, but firm when digging in the turns. Not bad around the crappy MI roads, either. I can't compare it to the stocker since I didn't ride with it. The clip-ons are definitely aggressive. Makes me think I should have gotten the adjustable versions. I'm only 5-6. I did keep the stock handlebars for the time when I get too tired of clip-ons.
Yes, the rear wheel is a bolt-on. It is one of my favorite mods! Easy, improved performance and looks awesome! Title: Re: Finally finished Lucille! Post by: Goat_Herder on April 23, 2011, 04:58:07 PM [clap] great job over the winter. You got a lot accomplished! I am exploring ideas for mods this year and might have to steal a few ideas from what you've done.
Title: Re: Finally finished Lucille! Post by: eyduc on April 23, 2011, 05:13:40 PM That's cool! I've done my share of borrowing ideas. That's part of the community aspect of this board.

Title: Re: Finally finished Lucille! Post by: eyduc on April 23, 2011, 07:40:59 PM Thanks! I just happened upon them on eBay as a new, discontinued item at a heavy discount. They are for the S4r. With some research on this forum, I found they would fit. I like the looks of the side by side style. The only other choice was either the Zards (pricey, but stylish pipe routing) or the Sparks (tightly routed pipes). The Termis don't route as tight and so the mufflers end up further back. This required the necessary 4.5" chop so it would line up nicely with the tail light. The only thing I don't like is that the decals are covered. I tried to reverse them so they would be towards the front but the rivet holes didn't line up. Oh, also the diameter was larger than the mid-pipes by a noticeable amount. 50mm down to 40mm. I would've liked the DP midpipes (45mm and matching finish) but it was too pricey (2x).
Title: Re: Finally finished Lucille! Post by: muskrat on April 23, 2011, 08:03:46 PM nicely done. Here's an idea for the sticker issue I did

For that application any quality cast vinyl will withstand the heat. Check out your local sign business, I have to plug Signs By Tomorrow since they pay my bills. Title: Re: Finally finished Lucille! Post by: SacDuc on April 23, 2011, 10:02:04 PM Nice bike! The problem I see is that she will likely leave you with four hungry children and crops in the field. Other than that she's great! [thumbsup] sac Title: Re: Finally finished Lucille! Post by: greenmonster on April 24, 2011, 02:45:41 AM Clean bike! [thumbsup]
Title: Re: Finally finished Lucille! Post by: eyduc on April 24, 2011, 04:27:40 AM Thanks all for the comments! Now if only the MI weather gets on the ball, I can just go ride! One good thing about the high gas prices is another good excuse to ride to work!
Title: Re: Finally finished Lucille! Post by: Link on April 24, 2011, 05:24:07 AM Very nice, the pipes & cut cans really set it off.

Where did you get them? got them at the Duc shop. THey are heat resistant stickers that go on the superbike exhaust. I think I paid $7 for both. Title: Re: Finally finished Lucille! Post by: Bishamon on April 24, 2011, 07:41:02 AM The shortened Termis are awesome, without a doubt!

It was worth the extra work to chop them! It's unique too, at least on S2R's! Title: Re: Finally finished Lucille! Post by: xcaptainxbloodx on April 24, 2011, 10:24:16 AM LOL, "finished"
Title: Re: Finally finished Lucille! Post by: eyduc on April 24, 2011, 10:29:03 AM Ok, ok - finished phase 1! ;D Until next winter! Hmm; powdercoat frame, new front end???
