A friend started a relay team on her birthday for the American Cancer Society. Cancer blows. Everyone knows someone who has had cancer or even themselves had cancer. I remember distinctively growing up quickly around 12 years old and for about 2 years, i would be home alone all the time because my dad would be working and then visiting my mom. My mom is a lucky survivor and it wasn't until I was much older that I realize no one should take their loved ones for granted (except my brother because hes a douche, nah i love him too lol)
Anyway, anyone in the NYC area is definitely welcomed to join my friends team it would be cool to meet some of the NYC crowd. A small donation would be great too. The event is misprinted and is scheduled for May 7th (this Saturday) Kinda last minute because the whole thing flew over my head since I was busy on that trip to NOLA.
Here's a link to my main page. You can donate to the team in general or under my name. All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.
And while we are there, lets make it a challenge that I will run 1 lap for every $25 that is donated [evil]

You'll be running one lap (at least). ;D
I lost my cousin to an unknown type of cancer (makes it really tough to treat that way) earlier this year.
Good luck with the event.

Many thanks for the donation!
Unknown type of cancer has got to be scary. Sorry to hear that. RIP.
Done :)
:-*
Thanks howie!
Well, now.
Looks like you're up to at least a mile.
This could get interesting. [evil]
Thanks man. :)
This is starting to get interesting.... :P
I wanted to run a half marathon this summer...if this keeps up, summer is going to come real soon. [evil]
thanks to everyone who donated. We made our goal of $300!
I will be running 3 miles to break it even. :D
He Man, Seems your going to have to do another lap. My wife battled cancer a year ago and it looks like she came out the winner. I hope like hell there is no second round. I'm glad for the chance to pay something back and make you sweat a little more. Thanks for doing this [thumbsup] [thumbsup]
Take another lap on me!
Mom beat breast cancer when I was 14... it took a double masectomy and bone marrow transplant, but she's still here. The docs told her that even after the procedures she was gone in three years.
It's been twenty. She's seen graduations, weddings, and grandkids, and completed the Kenosha-to-Chicago Walk for the Cure.
Thanks for doing this.
Two more laps on me!
I just finished being part of the motorcycle/route safety crew for the Avon Walk for the Cure here in DC. This is 6 event and I'm gonna keep doing it until we find a cure.
Thanks for doing this!
oh man, thank you guys, all of you! I really can't believe the outcome of this. I didn't think there would be such a positive response!
Seriously thank you ALL for your donations.
