Title: Would you ride an electric unicycle? Post by: 77south on May 05, 2011, 09:32:32 AM http://rynomotors.wordpress.com/ (http://rynomotors.wordpress.com/)
Ryno motors out of Portland OR is developing an electric unicycle for the scooter crowd. I look at it as if it were a moped, and try to imagine the sportbike version. ....I'd at least demo one!! Title: Re: Would you ride an electric unicycle? Post by: zooom on May 05, 2011, 10:02:41 AM reminds me of the Uno that the kid is developing...

[evil] ....I'd at least demo one!! yup, I could definitely get arrested on that...same reason I don't own a supermoto - although at least on a sumo you'd be really hard to catch [evil] Title: Re: Would you ride an electric unicycle? Post by: Scooter Montgomery on September 21, 2012, 09:01:51 AM Its like a Segway for fat kids, you don't have to stand while moving around.

Kinda pricey for a electric "bicycle" Probably fun to ride, tho Title: Re: Would you ride an electric unicycle? Post by: RAT900 on September 22, 2012, 02:56:44 PM kinda takes doing wheelies out of the picture tho [cheeky]
Title: Re: Would you ride an electric unicycle? Post by: cyberswine on September 22, 2012, 09:48:15 PM But it cuts the cost of tire replacement by 50%
Title: Re: Would you ride an electric unicycle? Post by: RAT900 on September 22, 2012, 10:08:42 PM and eliminates the potential for tank-slappers
Title: Re: Would you ride an electric unicycle? Post by: Betty on September 24, 2012, 10:25:50 AM I kept thinking that it would be a bit inconvenient to carry a 'paddock' stand around all the time ... but apparently you park it by standing it on its tail.
Oh and in the video he keeps referring to it as a 'bike' ... I think he means 'unike'. Title: Re: Would you ride an electric unicycle? Post by: eyduc on September 24, 2012, 10:30:51 AM Reminds me of the unicycle scooter in the movie The Lorax. Not electric but similar enough.
Also, I wonder about the scenario when the gyro balancing system fails. Probably the same for the segway. It seems a bit bulky to carry around (trains, elevators, etc.). Title: Re: Would you ride an electric unicycle? Post by: Barney on September 24, 2012, 12:03:17 PM it's 50% less bulky than your motorcycle... [thumbsup]

Less too than the Segway but it seems this one could be pared down a bit especially the tire. Maybe the tire has to be that wide for stability. |
