I don't know what the local laws and customs in the video.  But the riding style does seem awefully risky and dangerous to me.  Without knowing the background, I would say the guy got what he asked for (and lucky to live thru it).

Why the hell did he just run into that car? All those passes between two direction traffic, and he just runs into the back of a car when the other lane was open.  ???

Looked like he had some headshake right before that (which prolly prevented him from turning).  The headshake didn't finish 'til it was too late.  He gets on the brakes for just a moment and then slams into the car.

In the video I can't really see why he even bothered pulling back into the right lane, given his speed and what appears to be open tarmac ahead of him in the left and middle.

Yup. Brings it down from a wheelie juuuuuuust enough off center to give some head shake right at 4:32.

They got balls.  Can't take that away.  They just take the lane splitting that most of us do to another level.
I don't really understand the comments from bikers saying they got what they deserve.  That's an f'd up thing to say to another biker.  No matter what.

Sometimes I wish riders around here could wreck in such a way that would be painful, but not damaging in a lasting manner.

Because you learn more from painful lessons than painless ones.

I don't wish any of them harmed, just the universe's equivalent a slap across the backside. A "That'll learn ya!"

So I wouldn't be so harsh as to say they got what they deserved, but I would say they got what couldn't have been totally unexpected.

The thing is, the "they got balls...can't take that away" comment, is arrogance and ego. More times than I care to count, that type of arrogance and ego has gotten people into trouble and even killed.

If you want to ride like that, ride the Nürburgring, or more simply, do a track day. At least there's an ambulance on stand by if you biff it. I've NEVER understood why/how people equate riding a public road with riding like you would on the track.

An asshole doesn't cease to be one just because he buys a motorcycle.  I'm not giving a pass to someone just because someone else considers them a "biker".

Had he t-boned one of those tiny Smart Cars with a closing velocity in excess of 200mph there would be dead motorists involved.  Would I be allowed to criticize him then I wonder?

I think he slowed down to 130/8kph right before he inserted the bike into the back of that car.

This is on par with doing shit from the jackass movies at home...

Unless You have actually rode like those involved, and lived to tell the tale, You don't know the reason. Yes it is a matter of odds and the deck is stacked against You, but You all have done some risky moves in one way or another at some point in life, and You live to tell about it...I have rode like that, wrecked, learned about pain and long term disability, paid every dime of the cost. Now I think about it every time I see 140mph on the clock, but I do it more responsibly now.... [thumbsup]

There is a big difference between having balls and being a total dumb-ass.  I pass cars too, when there aren't any coming in the other direction, and definitely not going around right hand turns.  Throw your own life away if you want, but don't risk taking others with you.  Call me a dick, but bikers or not, I wouldn't shed a tear or lose any sleep if those involved were decapitated or injured in any way.  I'm not a perfect person, but those guys were make the beast with two backsing jack-asses.

Life's too short to learn all the lessons yourself, and becomes much shorter if you choose to do it that way.  Might as well learn from the examples of others....

Yeah, this is just stupid.  Just because one takes a risk, it doesn't follow that we give a pass to those who throw all caution to the wind and become absolute public menaces.

As a related note, don't forget, "ab" is not the only one prone to lump everyone on a bike as a "biker" to the degree that one is to be treated as all others in the "clan".  Those motorists out there (most of whom are voters) also contain a great number of individuals who see this and hate all motorcyclists even more.

People forget the simple fact that the cage drivers of the world already are not fans of "sport bikes" as it is and make the beast with two backs heads like this guy are not helping matters.  Don't get me wrong..I have done some pretty make the beast with two backsing stupid things on motorcycles in my life but I try not to involve other motorists.  Maybe I'm getting old but crashing hurts and I don't heal like I used to.  Also it gets pretty expensive to boot.  Keep riding like king shit badass on the streets and slowly we just might get voted into mopeds.

Typos aside, this sentence makes no sense.

Know the reason?

What reason?

Reason for what?

The reason for riding like an asshat and impaling the back end of a car driven by an innocent driver?

Only if we're asshats lucky enough to survive our asshattery do we have the right to call foul on the method certain dickwads choose to cull themselves from the gene pool?

Nonsense.

If you want to take risks on your own dime that's OK by me. We all live with a certain amount of risk that is mostly our own choice. I draw my line for my risk taking and judgement of the risks that others take when other people are involved. Don't do harm to others when crashing. That's my bottom line. I don't have a very high opinion of the riding those guys in the video are doing.

Gee, NorDog, You have a bad day?  Bummer You don't understand!   And I am glad You have never endangered another living thing with Your choices or actions, life must be nice up there.   You know, I never said or implied that I agree with this type of riding, yes I have done it, almost 30yrs ago, learned My lesson. I don't take chances that would harm anybody, property or animals, and I don't want Anyone to harm Me or Mine. People who know Me know this, if You weren't so eager to pass judgement You might actually comprehend what is being said....Try Again

Yeppers, I bet everyone of those cage drivers laughed as they drove past. Same way I feel when some asshole driver does something really stupid and dangerous near me while driving at twice the speed limit in town. I'd give anything to one day see one of them down the road upside down in the ditch or being hand cuffed by a State Trooper!! [thumbsup] Does that make me a bad person? ;D Part two would be to stop and tell them they deserved it while they're still strapped in the crunched up car and have them watch me get back in my car and drive away laughing. Part three would be to stop and high five the Trooper! [laugh]

What a waste of a nice 999. [thumbsdown]

I counter your wheelie claim with the front end dive of a "panic grab" of the front brake causing the front end to dive, bottom out and lock the front wheel...causing the headshake/uncontrolled stop/stoppie/crash.

That better not be an "R"...its an "S" right....?

the only thing I am going to say as to why this guy is an asshat...not because of his riding, but more of his video in general..to me it wreaks of " I spent all this money on this machine and so forth and filmed myself riding like a dick and then edited the film of my asshattery highlighting my speed and the level of illegality I am displaying all while also exemplifying the damage I did and walked away from with no positive message"...and he is probably sitting back laughing about it all....must be nice to have that kind of disposable income to post a video about it like that...

I am going to assume from the replies that for example, you do not overtake cars EVER via the oncoming lane n break any laws.  In that case, I can appreciate your replies.  Except, I have yet to run into such crowd.  I have seen when in some rides a biker won't pass a car that is slowing everyone in the twisty, the other bikers will pass him n then the car.  I guess every biker that did that is an asshole?  Remember there is no big douche or a small douche.  Oh well...

If there's a double yellow line - NEVER.
If there's a safe and reasonable amount of room to pass in a passing zone, then yes.

As for your comment about the twisties - my points cover situations like that as well (for me anyway - I can't speak for other riders).

Yeah, but I don't endanger others when doing so and try to mitigate the risk of an accident as much as I can.   The "nobody's perfect" arguement is a cheap defense.

We all mitigate "risk of an accident". But your risk assessment vs. Another rider is different.  Yet to a cager, every one is an asshole.  You guys may be good bike ambassadors.  Very admirable in my book.  But I am not going to sit n pretend I am 1.  That's all.  I am far unskilled to ride like that but hey I got to give props n sanetime not be happy when a biker douche or not goes down.

There's a big difference between an illegal pass on a double yellow when no one else is coming the other way, versus passing (double yellow or not) when someone is comig the other way and splitting between the two cars travelling in opposite directions.

There's also a big difference between doing so at a reasonable speed, and doing so at very high speeds as shown in the video.
