Title: What kind of sportscar was this?
Post by: IZ on May 07, 2011, 06:33:20 PM
Caught up with a sportscar this afternoon that was making all kinds of noise going up Scottsdale road.  I don't recall ever seeing one like it before.  A Light blue, roadster with "Esqualero" on the back..possibly?  Not sure since a search didn't bring up an image.
Anyone know?

No.  Nothing like that or a Ferrari/Lambo-look.

It wasn't a Maybach Exelero either.  Unless, they have a convertible that looks nothing like this.

Thanks Kop!   [laugh]

After looking at all of those though..IIRC, it looked something along the lines of an old Vette but it was a newer car.
Two wide exhausts on either end.  The "Esquero" or Esquelero" written in cursive on the back left.

I've been seeing an amusing trend, at least around NYC, of people putting all sorts of weird badging on their cars. Stuff like a late 90's Hyundai with a big wing, poorly done HIDs and badging that claims it is a Pzaquale Entertranza Turbo V10 along with a weird emblem.
Between that and people putting Autobot or Decepticon emblems on their cars, I'm mildly amused.

Oh a Deception!? I'm scared what does your POS turn into, a crappy robot that leaks oil and has an obvious bad bondo job as a hip replacement?

There is a company out there that makes a "replica" of a 57' corvette and its based on the newer chasis's. Cant think of the name of them, but have seen a few. Ill try to find a like of some sort.

I saw a Brabus ML63 the other day.  Diplo plates, zooming down Rt 50 towards DC.

pretty amazing, you'd never know unless you've seen the "B"... some thing like 700 hp in a CUV

the one i saw had no logos on it save for the B and the designation on the tail

I knew that car looked a bit familiar. I'd seen this one in person a few years back at Barrette-Jackson:

On a decent car it can be excusable.
but I've seen it on the worst cars imaginable.
It reminds me of when I put 5.0 emblems on an '81 Escort with a magic marker except I didn't do it because I thought it was cool, I knew it was lame and it amused me.

Maybe they are amused as well. (?)  :D

I'm assuming most are just dumb, particularly when the other "accessories" on their ride are taken into account.

If I recall correctly Cokey has the SRT-4 that isn't over the top looking.
I do not place his car in that same category.

that reminds me of the Civic DX I saw at an import night with literally...a Maxwell House coffee can for a tailpipe and a body kit made with plain cardboard adhered with blue painters tape and the car was red....it was a glaringly fun way to jab at em all....

The two worst I have seen were a Yamaha FZ6 with and HRC decal and a Honda Civic with an STI badge. Not to mention the numerous 6 banger mustangs with cobra and Saleen badging.

You must be talking about AZ Charles. That's an everyday thing here. :p

I freaked out one of these guys (V6 car with snakes on the fenders, big flashy wheels) with my GT500 just the other day. He saw me gaining on him at ludicrous speed in his rearview and crossed two lanes of traffic to suddenly turn off.  [laugh]
