Title: Metzeler Sportec M5 Interact
Post by: sbricon on May 09, 2011, 01:21:18 PM
Your opinion!!!

I had wanted to purchase a pair of Pirelli's Angel ST however, the dealer noted that they were  on backorder for another three more weeks.. instead I settled for the Metzeler M5 for my 696 Monster....Does any one ride on the M5 and what has been your experience with them?

Thanks

I'm going from M3 to M5 next week.

My M3 can take track abuse well.
They are much worse in the wet and cold than sport touring tires.
Predictable and easy to control when they get some heat in them.

I expect the M5 to be a little better.

Sorry - no experience with Angels.

Been riding a set of M5's for about 2k miles.  They are my first set of new tires, so I have a limited frame of reference.   Compared to my previous track takeoff rear and five year old OEM front, they are amazing.  I've no complaints, and may only change tires to see what else is out there.  If you're into it, they also look the business.

I'd say that plan trumps the 110 degree weather I have to look forward to :P
