Title: Termi exhaust ECU for M796 Post by: chiu on May 10, 2011, 07:32:37 PM Anyone know where can I get the Termi exhaust ECU for my M796?
I have lost my ECU....thanks!!!! Title: Re: Termi exhaust ECU for M796 Post by: DoWorkSon on May 10, 2011, 08:39:48 PM You could check with some of the vendors on here, but I am not sure if they sell the ecu individually.... Just the ecu costs almost as much as the entire kit. You could also contact termi directly and as them....
How do you lose your ecu??? Title: Re: Termi exhaust ECU for M796 Post by: chiu on May 10, 2011, 10:14:41 PM Thanks for your suggestion. I bought a second hand 696 termi. exhaust in ebay. And i think the exhaust can use on my 796, but the ECU not working with my bike. Any one know how can i get the ECU??
Many thanks!!!! Title: Re: Termi exhaust ECU for M796 Post by: kopfjäger on May 10, 2011, 11:24:43 PM Anyone know where can I get the Termi exhaust ECU for my M796? I have lost my ECU....thanks!!!! Buying a DP ECU is prohibitively expensive. Maybe you can get your stock 797 ECU reflashed. Or else just run with it as is - like you would with any other slip-on cans.Title: Re: Termi exhaust ECU for M796 Post by: Raux on May 11, 2011, 02:46:14 AM well if all the pins line up then maybe get the 696 ecu reflashed to a 796 dp ecu
Title: Re: Termi exhaust ECU for M796 Post by: asherrick on May 11, 2011, 08:52:38 AM If it's a 696 DP ECU, I'd sell it on eBay or the forums.
Title: Re: Termi exhaust ECU for M796 Post by: DoWorkSon on May 11, 2011, 08:54:15 AM You can still use your stock ecu with terms. Sell the 696 ecu and use the money to have your stock one reflashed.

Sell the 696 ecu and use the money to have your stock one reflashed. sorry to ask. Where can i reflash my ECU to fit the 696 Termi exhaust? Is it the same as the ECU that came with a 796 Termi. one? Many thanks for all your help. Title: Re: Termi exhaust ECU for M796 Post by: Drunken Monkey on May 11, 2011, 06:47:00 PM You can still use your stock ecu with terms. And as part of the reflash you'll get a fully programmable ECU that can be tuned to the pipes. The whole point of the As a side note, I don't know why people bother with the Termi ECUs. Seems like a lot of money for not a lot of product. Then again, if you want the "blessed by Ducati" part, it's the part. So i am planning to post to somewhere who can help me do it. I am confuse that if I install the 696 Termi exhaust onto my 796 bike, any other things i need to setup except the ECU?? Title: Re: Termi exhaust ECU for M796 Post by: ChrisH on May 11, 2011, 07:09:55 PM The 696 and 796 ecu's are physically different. I'm not sure if the connectors are the same, but the casing is very different. I doubt that you could use that 696 ecu for your bike. It would be better to sell it and reach out to someone to reflash your 796 ecu. It will likely cost a fair amount of postage but there are several companies in the us or abroad that may be able to help you.

Except changeing the ECU, any thing i need to setup after i install the Termi exhaust? Title: Re: Termi exhaust ECU for M796 Post by: DoWorkSon on May 11, 2011, 07:49:44 PM No, you can install the exhaust all by itself. The bike may not run as "good" with the correct ecu, but it will certainly run.
A ton of people on here are running different exhaust setups without the dp ecu(myself included). I would send you stock ecu to be flashed/mapped for your exhaust, but it is not needed to ride the bike. Title: Re: Termi exhaust ECU for M796 Post by: Raux on May 11, 2011, 08:10:10 PM the key reason for a remap is the intake.. if you go with a highflow airfilter setup then you need a remap.
just exhausts usually doesn't require it Title: Re: Termi exhaust ECU for M796 Post by: chiu on May 11, 2011, 08:12:32 PM No, you can install the exhaust all by itself. Are you meaning that even i change the ECU to 796 Termi ECU, the bike maybe not run as "good" ?? Title: Re: Termi exhaust ECU for M796 Post by: sinergy on July 07, 2011, 12:13:22 AM What is the main difference of having:
a) Slipons with DP ECU and k&N Hi flow air filter installed b) Slipons with stock ECU and stock Air filter will there be any long term problems or even immediate issues if you have Option B? Title: Re: Termi exhaust ECU for M796 Post by: DoWorkSon on July 07, 2011, 05:56:14 AM Option A provides more power and should cause the bike to run better(result of better hi flowing intake and improved mapping of ecu).
Option b will run perfectly fine. You will still see slight gains due to slip-ons... However, you will not get as much power due to the limited oem intake and oem mapping. Title: Re: Termi exhaust ECU for M796 Post by: sinergy on July 07, 2011, 07:43:58 PM Thanks, thats really helpful. Theres been quite a few guys telling me that just having slipons (without mods to ECU and airfilter) will not work (some say it wont work at all!) etc due to the o2 sensors and a bunch of other stuff and got me pondering if I should save up for the whole package.
