Title: Need to find a part Post by: seenickrun on May 11, 2011, 12:33:31 PM Folks, Noob question on my '03 620: I'm looking for the part that's circled in the pic below. They're pins with large flat heads that cover the clutch/brake pins. As near as I can tell they're cosmetic. The nuts holding them in came loose, and I didn't notice until after one of them rattled out. There's no change in the operation of the levers and they're not in the '03 parts manual, which is why I think they're cosmetic. In any case, I can't seem to find them online. Anyone know 1.) What are they? 2.) Where can I get replacements?
Many, many thanks! (http://www.theatreoftheabsurd.com/graphics/dscn2306_bars.jpg) Title: Re: Need to find a part Post by: Monster Dave on May 11, 2011, 01:10:07 PM 3 things:
1) It's nice to see another 03 Dark Silver out there!! 2) Man your bike is CLEAN - did you spit shine it??!! 3) I'll be watching this thread because I'd like to have the same thing!! Mine were gone when I got the bike. Title: Re: Need to find a part Post by: zarn02 on May 11, 2011, 03:17:18 PM You can order OEM from Ducati Omaha. I've done so in the past, and had good results with them.
Here's the parts manual for the '03 620D: http://issuu.com/ducatiomaha/docs/m620darkie_usa-02?viewMode=magazine&mode=embed (http://issuu.com/ducatiomaha/docs/m620darkie_usa-02?viewMode=magazine&mode=embed) See pages 27-28. There isn't a picture of the little cap, but there is reference to a "spare cap", #0000.46665 No idea if that's it, but you could give them a call and see. You can also order by part number off their website. http://www.ducatiomaha.com/products.asp (http://www.ducatiomaha.com/products.asp) Title: Re: Need to find a part Post by: 671M900 on May 11, 2011, 03:59:53 PM The lever pin? I think Yoyodyne has them under the spare parts section for brembo brakes, the 110 series.
Title: Re: Need to find a part Post by: seenickrun on May 12, 2011, 07:56:51 AM Thanks for the leads guys. I'm also going to check with the dealer, but wanted to run it by you folks first.
Dave. I actually can't take credit for the condition of the bike in that photo. It was one of the shots the previous owner took before he sold it to me. It was the only image I could find that showed the part I'm looking for. I do like to keep it clean though. ;D I'll let you know if I end up finding the part. |
