What an awesome last few holes Tiger. [thumbsup]
And the putt on 18, simply amazing. :o
I agree. Some of the best golf I have maybe ever seen.
Tiger is the bomb, but I could have driven the ball better than he was after he tweaked his knee. But DAMN.. his recovery is already in highlight reels.
And I wonder if he sold his soul or made some kind of deal with a higher power. The guy messes up on that chip out of the sand and it instead of going past the hole it hugs the flag and he sinks it.
It was also a perfect example of why people love him. He makes shots or putt reads that people hadn't done in the first three rounds. And his reaction is classic. The first eagle, he was pumped up, and you could read his lips saying "OH YEAH". The Chip from the bunker for birdie he had a goofy grin and put his head in his hands laughing to himself at his luck. Then for the Eagle on 18 when everyone was telling themselves, just get par and go ice the knee, he makes that awesome putt. I love how the announcer said, "he's aiming too far left". Tiger drains that putt perfectly and just raises his hand in acknowledgment with a good smile.
Tiger really makes golf exciting.
Tiger,, without a doubt, is the best golfer to walk the planet. I just hope he doesnt walk away from the field with a 5 shot lead. I wanna see Rocco & Lee give him a battle.
Hey,,, I PVR ed it & watched it last night. Today because of the overcast & possible showers,,,,ya,, I might watch it. Might just be gofing as well. ;D
Even better weather here today. [thumbsup]
Time to cross the street. ;D
Dammmit, I gotta leave town tomorrow. [bang]
Good luck Tiger.
Golf fan or no the past 2 days of golf from Tiger is nothing short of amazing. To play through pain and walk on a bad leg as long as he has and still hit clutch shots as needed is as amazing as anything I've ever seen. Jordan playing through a 104 temp and the flu to score 38 and clinch a Finals win on the road, Kirk Gibson's HR and only a few others compare in my mind.
Awesome stuff.
P.S. for those that don't follow golf he had his 3rd surgery on his left knee (the plant leg on a golf shot meaning it takes the brunt of the torque on a big swing) in April. He hasn't fully recovered and didn't play a full round of golf leading into this weekend. His limp is pronounced and he is adjusting his game and swing to accommodate his inability to swing as normal. Essentially playing the toughest tournament in the world with one arm tied behind his back.
From ESPN some descriptions of what he's working through

Awesome weekend of golf. One of the best golf tournaments, not just US Opens, that I can remember in a long time, maybe ever.
And my Dad and I won the member-guest this weekend at his country club. [thumbsup]
Hell of a match. I like Tiger but I had to pull for Rocco. Valiant effort by Mediate.
What a show. [clap]
