Title: People: decent or despicable?
Post by: Goodbrush on May 11, 2011, 04:12:12 PM
>>Park my bike and run into bank for 5 minutes
>>Come out to find that an SUV has backed into my bike
>>Guy who saw it says SUV sped off before he could get plate #'s
>>Right foot peg is snapped off
>>Bike next to mine is all scraped from where mine fell into it
>>Æ'uck people

And this coming after a morning in which I was short on cash and the lady behind me in line bought my coffee for me.
Its my good deed for the day she says.  I'll be sure to return the favor to someone else I say.

I cant decide whether I want to be a humanitarian or a misanthrope

Awe that sucks. Was there a parking lot camera that the bank would have a recording of to help you out?  [leo]

Talked to the manager of the branch and he assured me his cameras were not pointing in that direction

Even it all up - buy someone a coffee and kick in an SUV's fender.

When I lived in manhattan, I parked on the street.  I lived on the UES and parked my car on the street one day and came back the next to find the front left fender RIPPED off.  thankfully, the driver left a note -- he had rented a Uhaul truck and had insurance and all was good.

I called his insurance and that was it -- they fixed it perfectly.

Of course, the insurance company called to make a police report and then he was arrested for leaving the scene.   Not my call, but shit happens.

If you hit someones car on a public street you better call the police on yourself.  They said he wouldn't have even gotten a ticket had he done that.

We all make mistakes.  We all make the beast with two backs up from time to time.  We all have those "aw shit.... i didnt did I?" moments.

But what the make the beast with two backs is wrong with some people?  When you bugger something that belongs to somebody else you take responsibility for it and make it right (as best you can).  Just as you would want others to do had the unfortunate occurrence happened to your thing.

The minor collision which damaged your bike I could forgive, no doubt it was unintentional.  But pissing off at top speed to avoid the consequences is the deliberate act of a total arse-wipe low life twat bastard.

I vote misanthrope

I hate parking in parking lots unless I can find a sidewalk to use near were I'm going (no tickets yet but I only do this at spots I know it's most likely ok) or a corner parking spot.
