Title: Motori Italiani
Post by: mattyvas on June 15, 2008, 12:49:56 AM
Went along to the Motori Italiani today, just to have a look at the bikes......
IT was a great turn out of DOC NSW bikes, all types of things to look at from the Ducati family.

There were also a few cars there but they didn't capture much attention from Super and myself.

Rest of them are on my flickr click below, but here's a little Monster sample

I've also got some shots which I will post up when I get home (flickr blocked at work  ???)

I won't say they're great, but some differing ones than Mattys!

Great to catch up Dock, and you've started the thoughts churning about  different bike options (you know which ones)  :-\

Okay pipe up, what's on your mind?

Are you talking Superbike?
or different Monster?

All I'll confirm at this stage is that it's Italian - it's a good thing that there were bikes to sit on at the show..

Nice pic.
Lovely balance between bike and background.
Hmmmm, thinking about what you're looking at.
Could it even be a different Italian brand.

Could it be the bike I was looking at while Matty was yapping away....looking at said bike and bike dude walks over and says, "Can I help you with anything?", "Nah, just looking around, I was hoping the Shiver would be here", "Shiver, what's that?".  [roll]

So, I look at his shirt, Moto Morini all over it.  :-\ . I didn't even notice.  [roll] . "Yeah, sorry, it's an Aprilia", "Well, you should probably talk to those guys over there", pointing to Aprilia booth.

Then he asks me, "What are you riding at the moment?"

me: "A Monster 620RR"  ;D

Him: "Well that one there", pointing to Moto Morini Corsaro 1200, "That's a Monster on steroids"  :P

me: "Oh really! Thanks very much for your time"  [roll]

Anyway, too bad we all weren't there at the same time, alot of great bikes on display, except for the Transformer Benelli's. [puke]

Cafe Racer my arse!

That Super Sport is gorgeous! Me want!

Thanks Matty for the kind comments - whilst I might not agree, I appreciate it none the less! I am one with my lack of skilz in this arena!

Actually, to be honest, the photos were an afterthought - I spent a lot of time crapping on to Dock, briefly caught up with Big Al and a few others. I spent a bit of time sitting on bikes, particularly after Dock pointed me in some directions to look.

He's an  [evil] man with good intentions  ;D . Now I'm trying to resist the urge to research new bikes - I love the monster and would not be without one, and I can't justify more than 1 bike at the moment.

Yeah, except for the price tag (if you can find one to buy). Seems like it wont be long until the D16 will look cheap against it (so I am reliably told  :o)

Yeah, but I still want it.

And the Ferrari 430 that was sitting outside, I'll have one of them too. ;)

Don’t fight it goldfish .it is your heart that will decide. your mind will have nothing to do with the decision.

The more you look the more you want, the more you want the more you look the circle has started. It only gets worse  [evil]

By all means and I agree.
I did like the 749s around the corner, but I'm not sure if I snapped it or not.

We'll see what the next year brings.
Gotta get something that might have some hope of catching you up in the twisty's.
The mind is ticking but I'm still thinking about the other model I was talking to you about.  ;)

$10k less to have invested in a 2nd bike.
And what did you say 116hp still, that's twice the 620 and then some

All six levels of Superbike School will do that for you, a _lot_ cheaper than a new bike...

Well I'll do my best for us during whatever breaks we get.
There will be evidence one way or another.
