Title: Spaghetti Headers for M1000 (along with Sil Moto Conical exhaust.) Post by: Travman on May 16, 2011, 10:41:03 AM Does anybody here have any experience with the Sil Moto Spaghetti headers for the 1000 DS Monters? Did the headers make a difference? Did they install without difficulty? Do you have any pictures of them on your bike?
Here is a link to the headers I'm referring to: Motowheels - Quality Motorcyle Parts and Products (http://www.motowheels.com/italian/myProducts.cfm?parentcategoryid=2104%7CMonster%20Exhaust&productID=6126&showDetail=1&categoryID=2107|Monster%20Exhaust%20M600%2DM1000%2F%20MS4&vendoridtodisplay=71%7CSil%20Moto&filterFor=&collection=168%7CEuropean%20Motorcycle%20Parts) (http://www.motowheels.com/italian/images/lg66695008.jpg) Title: Re: Sil Moto Spaghetti Headers for M1000 Post by: BlackKat on May 16, 2011, 02:40:44 PM No experience in that application specifically, but in general, the Sil Moto products have a top notch fitment.
Title: Re: Sil Moto Spaghetti Headers for M1000 Post by: mikeb on May 17, 2011, 09:27:07 AM I saw a local M1000 with one mounted back when that model was current. I'd say 2004 or so. Fit like garbage. That was the only time I've ever seen/heard of one mounted up though.
Title: Re: Sil Moto Spaghetti Headers for M1000 Post by: Travman on May 17, 2011, 11:30:29 AM It turns out the headers I'm looking at are not Sil Moto. I had assumed these were the headers the seller was listing, however, after seeing pictures i think these are Ducati Performance Spaghetti headers probably made by Termignoni. Has anybody run across these? I think I can remember seeing these in a Ducati Performance catalog back around 2004 or 05.

These ones maybe? Title: Re: Ducati Performance Spaghetti Headers for M1000 Post by: Travman on May 31, 2011, 12:22:27 PM http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=44285.msg801279;topicseen (http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=44285.msg801279;topicseen) Yes those are the same Spaghetti headers. These ones maybe? It looks like I'll be able to ge these. Last week these headers went to a man in North Carolina who wanted to fit them to his Bimota with a DS1000 engine, but it didn't work out because the swingarm on that bike would allow them to fit. The original seller forwarded my contact info to buyer in NC in case they didn't fit. So these may be in my garage soon. Title: Re: Ducati Performance Spaghetti Headers for M1000 by Termignoni Post by: junior varsity on May 31, 2011, 02:59:04 PM I have the sil-moto headers for my M900. I love them, would buy them again in an instant, but would do it much further down the mod-list as the benefit of higher-flow won't be realized until I'm flowing significantly more through the heads. The benefit of lighter weight and better looks (and convenient ceramic-coating opportunity) are well worth it though. Fitment was straightforward, easy, and leak-free. Can have a bit of leak around the slip-on / header slip-joint, so a bit of exhaust sealing goo may be necessary. The exhaust company 'Spark' also makes headers for the M900 - not sure if they've got a product for the M1000.
I have no experience with the Termignoni spaghetti systems first-hand, but they look good - there was one for the 900 - a 'full system' with high pipes at that. so, no FHE, but I wouldn't turn 'em down, that's for sure. Title: Re: Ducati Performance Spaghetti Headers for M1000 by Termignoni Post by: Travman on September 01, 2011, 10:31:22 AM These things are so cool looking, wish you didn't spray them black... I too like the raw look, but I do want them ceramic coated for marginal performance improvements including reduced temperatures. Eventually my entire exhaust including mufflers will be ceramic coated. I would have gone with their silver, but both versions of their silver are too shiny for my bike. Post by: Travman on October 07, 2011, 04:36:25 PM I love the look of megaphones on Monsters especially the Sil Moto's. I was hoping a used set of the conical exhaust would pop up, but that never happened. So I finally bit the bullet and bought them. Since the new headers were being installed this seemed like the time to do it.
The bottom part of the pipe will be coated black along with the bracket. Does anybody here have some PhotoShop capabilities? If so, could you do me a favor and black out the lower part of the Sil Moto muffler so it will match the headers. I want to make sure it will look the way I'm picturing it. Sorry for the crappy pics, but the light wasn't ideal. Title: Re: Spaghetti Headers for M1000 (along with Sil Moto Conical exhaust.) Post by: hunduc on October 08, 2011, 04:37:22 AM looks really good imho. what kind of coating did you have at jethot?
i would coat the muffler bottom and top parts as well, i think you have the right idea. Title: Re: Spaghetti Headers for M1000 (along with Sil Moto Conical exhaust.) Post by: Travman on October 08, 2011, 06:13:32 AM looks really good imho. what kind of coating did you have at jethot? As far as I know, JetHot only offers one black coating. I wanted a little bit of gloss to it which it does have. i would coat the muffler bottom and top parts as well, i think you have the right idea. I may coat the bottom part of the muffler, but I definitely will not be coating the end cap. I've seen the Sil Moto conical exhausts done entirely in black and that isn't the look I'm going for. IMO, it loses something when the exhaust is all black (too much of a good thing). Title: Re: Spaghetti Headers for M1000 (along with Sil Moto Conical exhaust.) Post by: hunduc on October 08, 2011, 06:32:55 AM i guess it is more or less this look

Title: Re: Spaghetti Headers for M1000 (along with Sil Moto Conical exhaust.) Post by: Travman on October 08, 2011, 11:26:58 AM i guess it is more or less this look I do like both of those exhaust systems. The all black one is the best looking all black exhaust I've seen. It helps that it has some gloss shine. http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=47015.255 (http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=47015.255) vs this one http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=28586.msg708169#msg708169 (http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=28586.msg708169#msg708169) with a different pipe of course. my question about the ceramic coating was about the temperature rating. 2000F? I'm not sure what temperature rating the coating on my exhaust has. I just checked the JetHot website and there is a 1300F black and a 2000F black. I'll find out. Title: Re: Spaghetti Headers for M1000 (along with Sil Moto Conical exhaust.) Post by: Travman on October 10, 2011, 04:52:10 PM I can't believe this. I've kept my eyes open for a used set of the Sil Moto conical low mounts for a couple of years. A few days after I buy and install a new set at full retail price, a nice used set pops up for sale. ??? :-\ That's life. :)
