I tried searching and although I'm sure this has been covered before, couldn't find what I was looking for. Im wanting to add an LED brake light with integrated turn signals. I found this one here:

I read that a few people had to have them replaced, but most seemed to like them. Any input? Thanks!

Have it. Love it. Install was a snap.

Had that one and the $25.00 one from ebay (be careful as there is a non integrated one on ebay for about the same price and its from China rather than California)...both work and install in minutes. The only difference between the two, is the Motodynamic blinks 3 times before your brake light comes on...it draws a little more attention to the fact that you are braking. Is it worth the @$50.00 difference? your call.

Have it on my bike. No complaints.

I have also installed it and it works great.

I will say this though; most people say that you will need resistors if and only if you are also running front LED turn signals. This is required to account for the lower draw of the front LEDs vs. the stock incandescent bulbs, resulting in a fast flash.

When I installed some LEDs in front along with the integrated motodynamics in the back, I did not need resistors for some reason ??? . Also, the rear signals do not work if the bike is not running, which is normal for some models.

I got the smoked version. Great product, and I highly recommend it!

That brake light is number 2 on my want list.  Number 1 is a tail chop.

so sad that no available tail light for M796....

It's cool just wish it came in a stock red color.... Clear looks sorta "rice" IMO and I dont want smoked although it looks good.

Well, Moto Dynamics gets a "Holy shit that was fast shipping" thumbs up. Install tonight!

I highly recommend heat shrinking all connections, that area gets a lot of gunk, funk, and general debris in it. My old CA unit would short sometimes with just e-tape for protection in the rain, my Moto Dynamics hasn't made a peep.

I was debating about shrink wrapping the connections, so I guess I'll definitely do that now. Unfortunately, when I opened the package this evening, I found a a loose screw rattling around inside the housing and the LED circuit board is loose  :-[ Just sent them an email to get a replacemnt out to me. Maybe I'll get it installed next week.

I had a warranty issue with my first one as well, but they handled it very well. I'm sure you'll have now worries there.

One small tip for heat shrinking wires.

squirt some RTV silicone into the heat shrink first.  not much, just enough to fill the centre.  let it set up and then heat shrink it.  the shrink will squeeze the RTV and it will seal until hell freezes over.

That's actually brilliant. I'm going to go back and do this on my gauge wire. In a downpour the other day my tach went a bit haywire.

yeah, practice a bit before you do it.  if you do it just right, you can use oversided heat shrink and make a solid barrel of the silicone. 

i did this when i made a new wiring loom for another bike -- examining the old one, i realized the factory just sealed the ends with electrical tape and all kinds of crap got in as the tape got old.  rtv silicone will last far longer than anything else and effectively "pots" the connection as it's an insulator.

That's what I was thinking, it's essentially potting the connection but with something that is far easier to remove if need be. First round is on me if you ever get off your keister and come ride with us :D

its the way it blinks is why i like the other one, i had seen this one, but i like how the led's scroll when you signal

Got my smoke tail light with integrated signals and plate light for $22.47, under $30 shipped from T-Motorsports. Works great and has been ridden in the rain. Has every feature that the C.A advertises and I'd be shocked if they weren't the exact same Chinese part.

I followed a sportbike couple years ago, and he had one with ">>>" arrows that blinked and scrolled, pretty cool, never a doubt what he was about to do.  Have no idea where he got it tho.

I think I've seen the one with the "<<<>>>" LEDs on the Italian ebay before.  They had them for the Monster too.

Finished installing the Motodynamics integrated w. the smoked plastic... waaaaay more visible than my old bunnyear blinkers and way brighter (according to a couple guys I ride with).

It def. cleans up the view of the back of the bike as well.

I installed my sequential LED tail light from MotoDynamics last night and decided to modify my stock beer tray.  What do you guys think?

Ditch the tray.

I fabricated possibly the worst looking bracket to mount the tail light tonight. The bracket is something I am ashamed of creating. Never had to work with so few tools. Hacksaw, no vice or clamps.

Regardless my bike never looked better.

It is a mod I really recommend.

I am going to do it again, and this time combine some undertail tray piece all in one.

I can't agree with this more. The bike looks awesome already, and getting rid of that tray will really set it off.
