I got a rim off ebay, and it's straight, but the lip is bent a tiny bit in one spot. You can't see the bend, but I roled it on the floor with out a tire, and theres one spot thats bent a tiny bit.
I'm wondering if it will be fine when there's a tire on it. Has anyone delt with a slightly bent rim lip?
here are some pictures. I marked the outside with the tape, and the inside has a black spot along the edge.

Had the exact same problem a few years ago - although, mine was a bit worse.
Problem with a bent lip is that it may not hold the bead (metal band) of the tyre well.
There are several shops that specialize in wheel repair. I had MCWheel do mine, and it worked beautifully. Search around for a reputable shop in your area - should you choose to go this route. Keep in mind that there are those who strongly disagree with wheel repair in general - and I trust them to chime in to give you a 'balanced' perspective before you make your choice.
get it... balanced... wheel... (sorry)
I'd either have it repaired...
or more likely run it as is.
i bet it holds air and isn't a problem. i've seen way worse workout just fine. wheel repair can be pricey so i'd mount a tire on it and see what happens. keep it off the bike for a week and check the air pressure (with the same gauge everytime) regulary and see what happens.[bacon]
not uncommon to see a tire shop whacking at a steel wheel with a rubber mallet to straighten it out and put a tire on it. i may or may not have done that back in HS at the local garage per my "elders" advice.
if it holds air, it should be fine.

+1
I'd run it too, maybe a few judiciously slow rides to make sure nothing weird happened.
Thats the plan. I'll let y'all know how it rides.
FYI,
I put a tire on, and put about 50 miles on it, and it's fine.
My wife and I went for a ride today, and she freekin loves it. I don't know if you saw my intro thread, but she's been riding a Ninja 250 for a year now, and was ready to move up. She wanted to get a Ninja 500, cause there basically the same bike, but I new this would be a great fit too. And she is so happy about the Monster.
We put on about 100 miles today, and she said she's way more comfortable on something a little heavier(doesn't get blown around), and she said she LOVES first gear.(finnaly got something with some power)
I just can't explane the joy that today brings to me. I get to share one of the things I love with the one I love the most, and she truely enjoys it. I've just got to give it all to God, he truely does love us all, and I believe that! Thank you lord, I owe it all to you.
