me likey and want!!!!
Very nicely done, especially the 300lb. weight!
That's an SBK I'd line up for ASAP
Ducati needs to make this. Now!! [evil]
I doubt it really weighs 300 lbs though...maybe without oil, gas, and a battery.
maybe I missed it but what engine did they use and what did they bore it out to? Or do they just say 2v air cooled bored out a lot?

they built something from parts, 2v air/oil
As I understand it, it's an 848 lower end (with the deep sump), with a multistrada crank, hyper cams, titanium valves and con rods, high comp pistons (14:1 :o). They didn't say what, specifically, the jugs were from, just that they were bored out and re-sleeved for a total of 1176cc.
And yes, I'd make sweet, sweet, dirty, hot, smelly, nasty, tire-roasting love to that thing.
I'd hit it!

Wow - awesome bike
There is little doubt the bike is over 300lbs. NCR's "new blue" bike is 316 lbs and only with a tonne of work using cudtom components, including lightening the heads and jugs ny hand, a Ti exhaust header and Mg wheels.
That would be so much fun on these tight & twisty mountain roads!!!!! I volunteer for testing!
JM
Every time a bike like this is made everyone drools. Why don't Ducati make a similar limited edition bike like this to sell? Great marketing and they would absolutely sell out.

I dunno man, weve got a 916 frame with a multi engine in it that weighs right around 315 and it hasnt got nearly as trick stuff going on.
I have a feeling the new SS is a real possibility now

NCR's Hailwood Replica is right at the 300 lb mark (I assume dry) and it's got all the light-weight goodies on it. The only thing left to do on that bike is slap on some Braketech CMC rotors.

The t9 is just a bike, man. Its not like I'm riding Jesus to the rapture.
Id trade it for that thing (if it really is 300 pounds)

You could always buy the NCR. [evil]
All my money is wrapped up in the biz...

add the forks and tires and tank and see what it weights.. oh, and put the crankshaft and rods back in the engine too [evil]
Sweet build. 14:1 static, no wonder they got all that power from it!

That's impressive considering 4 gallons of gas is 24 lbs, and 4 quarts of oil is about 8 lbs. You gotta forgive us if we're skeptical of a 285 lb dry weight (including the battery). That's lighter than both the NCR bikes, and the Pierobon F042. Very impressive if true. Post some pictures!!
The streetfighter is very cool. [thumbsup]

ill talk to AJ (the guy that built it) on tuesday and see what the exact numbers are. its offsite right now so no pics, its not much to look at anyway. its never been painted and its bin down once or twice.
thats no streetfighter though, thats a trackfighter [cheeky]

LMAO...nothin but a multi motor in a "916 frame"....oops, forgot to mention it's made from Titanium, along with the exhaust :D
The "trackfighter" is awesome!

I would love to see exactly how a bike like that weighs 300 pounds. My 1000SS track bike with no street equipment at all, Yoyodine fairing stay, Ducati Kaemna 1/4 fairing, ETI-Fuelcel Sprint carbon-kevlar tank, BST carbon fiber wheels, Sharkskinz 916 race tail, Speed Cell battery, and DucPond single silencer undertail custom race exhaust with DucPond lightened rear rotor, Woodcraft CFM rearsets and clip-ons, weighs 347 pounds on a certified scale on board. The only places left for me to save weight are with the 916 mono aluminum subframe I have for it, and internal engine lightening mods. That may total 17 additional pounds of savings, to get it down to 330 pounds. Maybe.
I think part of the key detail is the weight of a frame to begin with, and some of these exotic Ti frames are where they start to get more of that off Tim....but I am speculating of course...granted, the O.P. bike isn't one of those frames, but the Pierobon ones are and the Ti-Fighter is...
I don't know..I also don't know how much any of these frames weight by themselves in comparison...

talked to the man behind the bike and it is a 748 frame with a built multi DS1000 engine. it weighs 325lbs wet. apologies for my make the beast with two backsed up memory.
I think if you really wanted to get under 300 wet, you'd have to go with a Ti frame and one of the new Evo 1100 motors with the new lightweight castings, tons of Magnesium and CF.
would love to see what a no holds build could do with that kind of material.
enter dream sequence ~~~~~~
Ti SBK frame mainframe
1100Evo motor bumped to 1200 with HC pistons TI rods, Ti Valves lightened Crank, lighten flywheel, etc internally.
Mag side cases
Mag swingarm
BCT rims
CF bodywork including rear selfsupporting eliminating Al subframe
Ti exhaust
CMC brakes
Ohlins forks
Ohlins rear shock
Mag front light holder
Al or CF tank
CF airbox modified for 1100 motor
misc CF parts

Still impressive. My race prepped 748 with OZ wheels is 400 wet. Dropping another 75 would be tough...but would make me very happy! [evil]
As I recall the ARC frames were about 6 pounds vs 30ish? Ti swinger would help too along with every fastener on the bike.
Light weight is expensive.
Lightest weight is muey expensivo ;D
I'm building a Ti frame for an 07 S4RS, the stock frame is around 28lbs. Not quite done with the Ti frame, but it is going to end up around 12-13 lbs.

Would you mind making one for me too?
I'd love one as well....but I'd rather have one with SBK geometry (for my 2V SBK :) )
or you could go lighter
