anyone have any images of something other than a black seat on their bike?  thinking about recovering and putting some gel inserts into my seat and was considering a brown/black seat color combo but can t seem to find any images to check out . . .

Take a pic of the bike and I'll/we'll photo chop it...

ahhhh, was not aware of that.  hmmmm, what if they get some foam over top?  would that help or is it unavoidable?  i live in socal so hot sun is a def situation of daily life

That looks surprisingly good. The brown seat breakup all that black.

if you just want a new cover HTMoto has all kinds of colors/skins to make it look like that pic.  Unless you're handy with a sewing machine and electric stapler.

i'm gonna have a local upholstery shop do it.  they had a TON of colors and materials.  also gonna shave down the foam a bit and potentially throw in a gel pad. 

If i were to do a custom seat, I'd try to use a layer of memory foam like a temperpedic matress.

Also, I'd try to see if I can get the bottom edge of the seat shaved to follow the frame and tank better, and exposing more frame.

HTMoto only makes seat kits for monster '93-'04. I didnt realize the monster seat changed after all these years. What's the difference with '05-'08 model seats?

Do you guys think the seat covers would work? Or is there another source for seat covers?

Not to thread jack, but I love the matte red color - looks great.

there's really no difference.  it's just the raw material - seat shape did not change much if at all. 

I think the locking mechanism under the seat did change though.

that happened in 99 or so. 

should be the same for all the 'classic' style seats.  the 696/etc might not work.

luimoto I think is still making them also.

I'd love to see a photo of the whole bike to see how the complete package looks.

I second the memory foam...keeps the Cash and Prizes from going numb! Gel is just brutal in the summer!

Just a small 1/2" piece in my seat with the medium tack black vinyl on the riders position with the high tack for the passenger. Works very well. This is the second seat I had done in this way.

this is the best I have but theyre outdated by more than a few months and mods.

I'm really diggin the bright white lettered tires alotttt, it works well with your bike. It gives it that dragster look.

I don't know what the difference is, but I have an HTMoto seat cover on my 06 S2R... I would advise something more powerful than the expensive electric stapler I bought.  I ended up having to "persuade" each and every staple with a pair of pliers.

i just dropped the stocker off at the auto upholstery place.  they had like 5 lambos and ferraris in there so i'm thinkin i'm in good hands.  i found an insert with gel COVERED in memory foam.  so i'm giving that a run.  chocolate brown leather from Cadillac  [coffee] and we shall see.  should be interesting!  wondering if i should add some stitching to the "saddle" area . . .

any other shots of custom stitching, etc?
