Title: Head re-install, what do I replace?
Post by: TAftonomos on May 23, 2011, 12:31:21 PM
My list:

Headgaskets
O rings on the studs
Base gaskets

I need to remove the pistons from the bores.  I plan to reuse the rings as I'm not going to touch the cylinders (3K miles/no damage).  Do I need to replace the circlip/snap ring from pulling out the piston pin?

If I'm leaving something off, please let me know.

there are oil galley o-rings too. I replace ANYthing that makes a seal. The piston rings.....yeah, you can probably skip them, but do replace that circlip. Cheap!

not sure what you're working on, but headbolts can be upgraded, and should be on the older bikes. And some dont have head gaskets persey

Oops, I didn't put that part in did I?  S4R testastretta

Wilco on the cheap bits (and not so cheap headgaskets)
