Title: Difference in Years/Models Post by: Motohead on May 23, 2011, 12:14:09 PM After lots of searching I still need an education on this. I have decided to buy a used Monster. It will be used for canyon day rides which will be 200 mile loops and occasional tour rides strapping on overnight bags. I want the torque of an 1100 and need to know about the different year changes. Are there different generations of frame or motors? How about special limited edition type models? Again, used and hopefully low miles. Thanks for any input.

If it's the latter, here is a good starting point: http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=25126.0 (http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=25126.0) Also, if you want specific comparisons, ducati.com has model specs going back for a number of years. That's another good resource. Title: Re: Difference in Years/Models Post by: duccarlos on May 23, 2011, 12:20:54 PM I think a year range would help.
Title: Re: Difference in Years/Models Post by: Motohead on May 23, 2011, 12:40:14 PM Thats fast response, Thanks. Not specifically 1100 but prefer the bigger torque motors. I want a recent generation year roughly 2007-2009. I want to get that price range where the bike has low miles <5000 but the depreciation is significant. Hope that helps.

This one has 74.5 ft. lbs compared to the 2009 Monster 1100s with 56 ft. lbs. |
