Another early heads-up for a summer (August) event:
http://www.charmcitymodsvsrockers.com/ (http://www.charmcitymodsvsrockers.com/)
Food, beer, pinup contest, live music. Oh - and some motorcycles and scooters.
sounds like fun...would love to go...but alas, I'll be en route back from the Outer Banks!
I am SUPPOSED to be on vacation with the girlfriend's family that week but I dunno if that's gonna happen or not. Plus I'd much rather be going to this.

Where are you supposed to be going?
Ocean City. I can't stand the place for more than a few days but her family is alllll about it. It's the last day of the trip, so I might bug out early.

About Wednesday, you and gf should head south. We'll be just off the beach at the Outer Banks. Lots of space...pool and hot tub in the backyard.
Bummer that is Indy Moto GP weekend. - Gene
Thinking this looks fun. At the moment I'm planning to go.

Dagnabbit! I think that's what happened last year too. Grrrr.
Is this going to be an annual event?
That's what they are hoping for. Last year was the first and way bigger than they had hoped.
Awesome. Count me in for 2012!
Too far in the future to plan, but if I'm still in MD then I should be going.

A bunch of us from the B'more area are planning to be there!
Though it's still a month off - this popped into my brain and I figured I'd drag the thread up
What sucks is it's the 2nd year they've scheduled the same weekend as the Indy GP [bang]
This is next weekend - any takers?

I'll be there, trying to convince the wife to come along too.
I MAY be at the ocean with the woman's family, but I'm trying to sneak out early. I'll keep you posted.
I'll be at the Indy MotoGP round. :( but also :)

yeah... life's rough :)
It happened last year too - hopefully next year they'll be able to schedule on a different weekend. Maybe by then I'll have the Norton going. Probably not.
Looks like Irene might ruin the party. I think I might head to Cycles of Silver Spring ( http://www.cyclesofsilverspring.com/events/ (http://www.cyclesofsilverspring.com/events/) ) for "Chop for the Cure" instead. Quote: "Hooters girls bike wash, food, music, and stunt show"! ;D [evil]
[update] Rescheduled to September 10th.

Not at Ocean City you're not. They have shut down for touristing. The mayor was on wtop today making the announcement.
Looks like any outdoor stuff this weekend is going to shut down or be a drenched mess
This is happening again this Saturday (Aug 25th) 10am - 4pm
Anyone going? Weather this year will be a tad better :)

Tempting but I'm headed here instead http://www.shenandoahconcerts.com/ (http://www.shenandoahconcerts.com/). Having just got back from Indy, and having neglected the GF and the Victory for 5 days, seems like a good idea and I know some great roads to get there. - Gene

Can't be worse unless we get a hurricane.
I'd like to, but gotta see. Presently I'm supposed to be helping out Frank get his monster looked over after to decided to plow some fields at Shenny.
I suppose I should go for a little bit as it's 3.5 miles from my house. [roll]
I should be working all Sat though. [bang]
Anyone make it?
Took franks bike to the Doc and the prognosis is grim. And I smashed the living hell out of my thumb - nothing like dripping blood from under your nail in a parking lot. Great way to start my day.
Yep. Took a spin up for a look-see. A lot more bikes this year. Good selection of mainly vintage bikes in the show - but thumbs up to the guy who put a MV Brutale into the Euro section! Lots of Triumphs old and new. There was a pretty neat Triumph TRW (500cc twin cyl military bike). Original paint. It's a WWII design, but I think he said his was a '62.

Not something that can be fixed on a weekend with beer and a few friends over?

Nah the thumb will heal on it's own....
Oh you mean the bike? Not really - there's a slight twist in the frame.
