I want to take the peg mounts off my S4RS and paint them. Everything looks straightforward enough, but of the three apparent bolts that hold the assembly to the bike, one is rather large in diameter. What else is that thing holding together? Just what do I have to deal with in removing the assemblies?
Thanks for the help.
It's as straight forward as it looks. The large one just bolts to the swingarm pivot rod.

Does it hold the pivot rod in place?

No, there's a wedge bolt in the swingarm on the chain side to hold the pivot shaft in place.
Those large bolts are aluminum, so don't torque 'em too hard on reassembly.
Remember to put the bike on a rear stand before removing the bolts... (http://d26ya5yqg8yyvs.cloudfront.net/muutt.gif)

Really? Boy, am I lost here. Is the side stand involved in this operation too?
Yeah, sidestand shares the front lower peg bolt.
Thank Heavens I have you guys around. Would have noticed that once I got involved, but it's nice to know what you're getting into before you're into it all.
Anyone know what size Allen Key and socket I need to buy for this little job?
8mm allen and 24mm socket

Thanks Darkstar.
I really need to get out to Texas and truck all my tools (and other possessions) out here to California.
