Title: O2 Sensor
Post by: mysticbluex3 on May 26, 2011, 11:45:31 AM
Does the M696 have 02 sensors to regulate how much gas is mixed w/ air?  Or is everything controlled by a pre-determine map?  While my bike was idling after work, my co-work says he smells gas and I might be running rich.  My sense of smell is horrible so I can't tell for sure.  My bike is stock except for Leo Vince slip-ons.

Both.  In the closed loop - so under 4500rpm (or maybe its 5500rpm on M696) your air/fuel ratio is aiming for a fairly lean 14.7:1 regulated by the O2 sensors.  Above 4500/5500 fuelling is managed by your ECUs mapping with no input from the O2 sensors.

Maybe you had the fast idle (aka the choke) lever flipped on a little too long?  Or....maybe your buddy is the one with the defective nasal equipment?  ;D.
