Title: Bored at work, so I made a "foot" pad for my kickstand
Post by: justin-branam on June 01, 2011, 02:38:24 PM
Went on my first ride this weekend and we had to park in a dirt lot. I was weary of my bike falling over and I also don't want my garage floor to get scratched. Knew I needed a support plate for the kickstand and figured I could just make one myself. I know it's nothing fancy, but the guys at the shop thought it was funny, so figured I would share it with you all too. The material I made it from is 3/4" thick HDPE plastic.

It may be hard to see int he picture, but the toes and toe nails are there.

Made this one as a more compact and portable one. Did someone say trademark infringement???

so how big is the carbon footprint of your bike now?

a while back somebody produced a kickstand with a duck foot. i wonder if they are still around.

I have a Desmo Times stand coaster JB Weld-ed to a hockey
puck. It stores between my gauges and fly screen.
Helpful when parking on iffy surface or plain flat -
my stand seems woefully short.

I take it that foot isn't permanently attached?

Definitely not attached. It's about 12 inches long and 4 inches wide. This one will probably stay in the garage. I have a design for a smaller 5x5 one of the Ducati logo, and I have some red and white plastic, that I may run tomorrow so I can have one small enough to carry on the bike somewhere.

Why is the foot pad in the shape of a right foot?  Shouldn't it be the left foot on the kick stand side?

Hahahaha, because I don't pay attention! I also added the Ducati logo one. Its smaller so I can carry it around.
