Just kidding. I've never done a Penguin day but I've heard a lot about them. They should take good care of you in the beginner group. Lot of good instructors. Try to stay relaxed. The energy and time wasted on being nervous will only take away from your learning time. Remember, there are no cops, cars, dogs, sand, etc, on the track. In my opinion it's much safer than the street. If you can ride on the street then the track is a breeze. I'd be interested to hear your take on it.Penguin has always, in the past, been more of a race school. With the number of people actually wanting to race declining maybe they've changed their program a little. Title: Re: penguin track experience june 16th Post by: T. Rush on June 04, 2011, 02:26:08 AM Did a Penguin school last June. There was a fair amount of class time prior to getting on the track which for me was interesting since it was my first experience at a track. Being a beginner I was in the C group while the B and A riders took turns on the track. First run out was very controlled where we followed our instructors for about 8 laps then back to the classroom. Another follow the leader run for a few laps and then we were on our own for awhile. Lunch and a bit of classroom then on our own for the afternoon. All in all a good experience for me. You should learn a bunch. Have fun.

Once you get there you'll know what I mean. Work on throttle control, body positioning, turn in/exit speed, smooth braking and throttle and a few other skills. Have fun and ride safe. Title: Re: penguin track experience june 16th Post by: Charlief on June 18, 2011, 03:05:12 PM How did it go?
Title: Re: penguin track experience june 16th Post by: jc.cyberdemon on June 20, 2011, 04:24:37 AM was great. got alot of 1 on 1 time and did actually touch down my knee once. I showed up on the second day of the 2 day class so i missed the first classes and felt kind of thrown onto the track but i settled in pretty quickly. i wasnt trying to be the fastest just tried to listen to what my instructors said and corrected my mistakes. noticed i was alot faster by the end of the day and wasnt getting passed as much. my legs are still burning didnt realize it was so physical. overall it was a good experience and i will be going back though i think i will do fishtail next time.
