Title: 1098 Ohlins forks on an 04 S4R fitment Post by: jjj0923 on June 05, 2011, 09:17:57 AM I friend of mine has a set of Ohlins forks off a 1098 for sale.
They use the radial calipers. I haven't measured their diameter but I'm considering putting them on my 04 S4R. I guess the big issues are * New triple clamps needed * New axle? * New rotors - were the 1098 rotors larger diameter - I believe my srock rotors are 320mm? * New radial brake calipers * Are the rotor offsets the same? or should I just can the idea and go buy a pair of R&T forks from Dan Kyle. The S4R has a badass front end from the factory: excellent valving, linear springs, TiN coated sliders. BAM

yes think you'll need 53/56 * New axle? yes 1098 axle with spacers most likely custom * New rotors - were the 1098 rotors larger diameter - I believe my srock rotors are 320mm? -rotors from 1098 are 330mm, but they use a 5mm spacer on the caliper mounts you can remove to run 320mm rotors * New radial brake calipers - 100mm radial calipers (any new Ducati are running them) * Are the rotor offsets the same? -1098 forks are 15mm offset rotors, not sure of the S4R |
