Title: Official Ducati Android app
Post by: mstevens on June 11, 2011, 09:14:45 PM
I installed the official Ducati Community Android app on my phone and my tablet.

For those who missed the announcement on Ducati's Facebook page about a week ago, it can be obtained from https://market.android.com/details?id=com.kontain.ducati&feature=search_result. (https://market.android.com/details?id=com.kontain.ducati&feature=search_result.) (Oddly, it doesn't show up for me if I simply search for "ducati".) There is a companion website at http://ducati.kontain.com (http://ducati.kontain.com) that does a good job of showing what the app looks like and what's available through it. Incidentally, since many Android tablets don't have native Android Market access and Ducati hasn't seen fit to make it available through Amazon or any of the easy-to-use app sites, I'll be happy to email a copy to anyone who needs.

At this point, I think I'll end up uninstalling it since I can't really see what it's good for. It's sort of a social networking app but it's hard to see the advantage over, say, Ducati's Facebook page. Text size is marginally readable on my phone but the app doesn't display properly on my tablet. It is nice and red and very Ducati-like in appearance.

Any opposing opinions about the app from those who love it?
