So, how does one separate the headlight bulb from the socket/wiring for replacement? I can get the bulb free of the housing, but there are about three different places that it appears to come apart. Anybody know? This is my mom's car and I don't want to hurt anything. FYI - It's the halogen looking low beam or DRL that is always on when the car is running.

hahahahahahaa....LOL
I am assuming it is the standard halogen H7 bulb, and if so, some of them, the socket terminals are just kinda hard to pull off a bit. This is usually because the terminals are forced open for the 1st time at the factory by the spade connectors of the bulb. They sort of fuse together somewhat and is completely normal for to be a little hard to pull apart. You might have to wiggle it a little bit for to get it off. When you put the new bulb in, 1) don't put higher wattage bulbs in ( for better visability or whatever reasoning) as they are not equipped for the need for higher resistance and will melt the pigtail to the bulb and 2) think about putting a dab of dielectric grease on each spade of the bulb before plugging it in for to ease install/de-install in the future as well as help with conductivity.
