I spotted the whole DucNight gang practically down at PJ's today!  I stopped in just to pick up some pieces/parts for the Duc, and lo and behold, Dusty, Keith, Adrianna, DucMouse, and later hyperdude drifted in!  We could've just gone ahead and knocked out DucNight early! 

Later, cruisin' up Juan Tabo in the Ducati Dodge, I spotted a Hypermotard.  Guy had on a black jacket and was wearing a backpack!  It was 3:45 at the intersection of Juan Tabo and Candelaria.

Spotted VivaleDuc on a spanking black Beamer SUV in Santa Fe....Had a BIG smile... [moto] Talk about Duc's spotting cagers... ;)

I saw you, too, Zaster!  Only I saw you on RT 66 heading west.  I was heading  to the Crest.  I was wearing my white jacket, too.  You must have thought you were having de ja vu.

yes indeed, it was the perfect day to ride.  I hope the gang had a great ride this morning.  Wish I could've joined up for that one, but had a voter's meeting at church.  I did get home in time to catch the motogp and tinker with the bike a bit before making a run up the Crest.

Around 7:30, I spotted a white 848 and a matte black Monster (Dark, possibly) heading east at the intersection of Central and Juan Tabo.  So it was a GOOD day Ducatiwise with the exception of Stoner's bike crapping out.  Can't believe he lost the lead in the championship race.   >:(

the other day i say a black with red frame 695 monster going south on san mateo

a red classic....but dont remeber where i saw him!!!

Monday night, I saw a cream and black Duc, might have been a classic or Paul Smart, I couldn't tell.  On I-25 heading south all the way from Montgomery to Carlisle on I-40 where they exited.  Two-up, both in black leather.  I tried to figure out what I was looking at, but I was in the Ducati Dodge and didn't want to crowd them so after a few Jim-manuevers, I let them go.   [laugh]

Also, that same Dark Monster I saw a couple weeks ago, heading East again on Central near PJ's on Monday.  He's the phantom Dark rider. 

Thursday afternoon around 2pm I saw a black 1098s with termis at the New Mexico Educators on juan tabo. Sounded really nice!  [clap] Today around 3pm saw a black monster and the rider had all black on, on Tramway and Lomas. Dont know that bike either

white 848 on central and tramway around 2:45

Red DUC with fairings, only got a glimpse as they flew past the Owl heading north on Eubank.  The pillon had a black guitar case strapped to his/her back so they were either in a hurry to get to their music lessons or a scene out of Desperado was about to transpire.

Oh, yeah!  Red Gloves spotted me on Central heading west at Wyoming.  He chased me down and we had a pow wow in Pep Boys parking lot.  He out-jim-manuevered me. 

I keep seeing a black monster (695?) going up and down Lomas near Washington everytime I am pulling out of my side street, Jefferson. I am sitting there on the side watching you drive by. Look over and check that corner I might just be pulling out for a quick drag up Lomas.

I spotted mr ratfink today on tramway at 530.  Black 749er! 

why yes.. I was on tramway at or around that time.  Roasting every part of my being to a crisp.  Yay Ducs in Traffic and 96 degree weather.  Leather doesnt help.

On my way to work yesterday around 5:45PM, I came up on a black 1000s with gold forks.  When I came up behind him, I saw saddlebags and a tailbag so at first I thought it was me!  I never dreamed it was a Duc till I got beside him.  I don't see alot of other Ducati's fully loaded with cargo like mine so I gave him a big thumbs-up.  I was in the ducati dodge and he gave me a nod when he saw my decal in the rear window.  Otherwise I'd have prolly just been another duc groupie.  Wonder where he was headed...

Very cool Sport 1000 Razgriz, yeah it was funny to see 2 Ducatis outside the Vespa shop. I have a Vespa 125 I needed some plastic parts for, thus the visit to the Vespa shop.

So last night Ducmouse and I went out in search of bacon. We were heading west on Indian School, then got stuck at Carlisle. The light cycled two or three times without a green for us. I decided to ride across the crosswalk to turn around. I did not see one of Albuquerques finest practically right behind me. Needless to say before I finished the turn the red lights were flashing, the traffic light changed, ducmouse rode off and the officer busted me. He told me to be careful then let me go. I DID NOT GET ANY BACON!

So it's NOT just me.  I have gotten stuck at west bound Indian School at Carlisle several times.  It's one of the few lights that does not change for my bike.  Perhaps a letter to the city informing them of its improper operation would be in order?  And good on the  [leo] for letting you go with just a warning -- were you wearing full gear?

I saw so many Ducs today, I thought I was in Ouray early.    ;D

 It all started this morning when Dusty and I passed PJ's around 9AM.  If you were the guy waiting for the shop to open and you saw two gangsta chica's go by in this old thing:

the reason we were waving madly, grinning ear-to-ear is because we forgot we weren't on our bikes.  Guy was talking on his cell phone and looked totally baffled at our enthusiasm. 

Later, after our hike, we are sitting at the Sonic on Central and we did the same thing.  We could hear a 1098 coming from a mile away.  When he blew by us, we again waved madly not realizing we probably looked  like smelly pirate hookers in search of motorcycle  [bacon] .  We just like guys on Duc's, what can we say.  The 1098 was red, the guy had on light blue jeans and a red Ducati jacket like Zasters, and a red and white helmet. 

3:15  - Red Sport Classic 1000 like Ragriz's in a parking lot near Montgomery and San Pedro. 
5:15 - Juan Tabo, white 848 heading north, rider in gray jacket and helmet.
6ish: - Central and Western Skies,  black bike with fairings (sorry, didn't get a good look, but know it was a Duc) black and red jacket, jeans.  I suspect it was RATFINK!

Red 1098 is Steven Tower. his bike is set up like Lorenzos with some exta carbona or carboner... if you will ?  And you will.   can't figure which face to make, so what the hell.  Heres bacon in your eyes   [bacon]   

AHHHH I've been spotted!!  or at least, It sounds like me..  I was definately in the Central/Western Skies area at or around the 6pm timeframe..  I'm so happy to see all these Duc's around town these days.. I spotted Zaster today at 1045 on central and tramway but i was in my van beeping you probably didnt see me but then later i was in Santa fe and saw George at 3pm with his masterpiece sportclassic at Cerrillos rd and Baca street. I beeped and waved. I think you saw me but wasnt sure who the hell I was?  [thumbsup]

BTW take it easy on N14 at 344 there is almost always a car there, pulling out, anticipate to slow down! Saw a major GX'er accident there. I hope the fellow is OK his bike was stuck in the bushes and he wasnt moving, laying in the grass. There was help or I would have stopped was in my van and traffic was backing up.

I left the springs about 230 and got home about 8pm. Did I pass you?

Sorry I missed you today

I met most of those guys before on a few night rides. They were pretty cool. We are going to have to put a ride together for this weekend. Has it been too cold at the crest? If so, at least maybe the coffee shop.

The cold is not an issue but the sand and gravel make it kind of treacherous especially when mixed with the water from the melting snow.
The cafe would be a great starting point...BTW Kingbaby mentioned that he is planning a practice day at the local track. Can't think of a better way to get ready for the upcoming riding season [moto]  

Should we see about renting the track? There are several weekend dates open. It would be nice to get out there and do our own thing, just ride at our own pace instead of racing. I wonder how many of us would be willing to go?

Well....it DID run, but I've begun the masquerade and I haven't finished it yet.  You're welcome to assist in the Frankenstein transformation from Sprint to CRTT.

Basically, I've changed the frame geometry a bit, mounted new shocks that should actually work, mounted new wheels and tires, mounted a new four shoe brake out front, added a 12 volt magneto driven electronic ignition system in lieu of the original 6 volt points, added a full set of factory modeled CRTT body work, added rearsets (that need to be relocated in order to accomodate a starter lever....opps...), rebuilt the engine (poorly), added a racier seat, and added larger diameter 30mm Ceriani style forks (NOS and made in Spain, but you get the idea) and clip-ons.

I still need to finish the wiring, add head and tail lights, add a mirror of some sort, shorten the forks, revalve and respring the forks, remount the bodywork about 15mm rearward, remount the rearsets about 50 mm rearward (or maybe a little more...I just gotta clear the starter lever), and paint the bodywork and I'll be ready to ride!

Dear Ms. Hunt,

On the afternoon of 2 May 2009--the second day of "Motorcycle Awareness Month"--you made the deliberate decision to engage in the personal vanity of painting your fingernails rather than paying attention to your driving. In so doing, you knew or should have known that (just as if you were texting or talking on a cell phone) this deplorable discretionary distraction would transform the possibility of you being in an accident into a probability of causing one. In so doing, you exhibited a culpable disregard of the foreseeable consequences of your actions, and recklessly endangered the lives of all motorists who shared the road with you that day. And in so doing, you wantonly took the life of a helmeted, conspicuously clad, experienced and responsible motorcyclist, a loving wife and mother named Anita Zaffke:

It's too bad Anita Zaffke didn't take the interstate that day. If she had, at least there'd be much less chance you could have plowed full speed into the rear of her Honda as she waited for a light to change. Instead she was on an undivided road, where according to NHTSA (DOT HS 810 606 Table 20), 90% of all motorcycle accidents occur. And why is that? Because those are the roads where motorists guilty of inattentional blindness resulting from discretionary distractions are most likely to commit a right-of-way violation ... like pulling out or turning left in front of us as they chat on their cell phones ... or weaving into our lane and hitting us head on as they tap out their text messages ... or ramming us at a red light while they paint their fingernails.

That doesn't change the facts, however, that Anita Zaffke had every right to be where she was, and that you had no right to hit her stopped motorcycle so hard that you knocked her two hundred feet through the air, causing her to suffer for more than an hour before succumbing to the mortal wounds inflicted by your total disregard for the lives of others.

You are responsible for taking a human life, Lora Hunt, because you made a conscious decision to engage in a distraction that you knew impaired your ability to drive. Yes, you were just as impaired as if you'd been driving under the influence of alcohol, if not more so. And had this been a DUI manslaughter, you'd probably be charged with a Class 2 Felony and sentenced to a jail term of 3 to 14 years. But "DWI" has yet to be redefined as "driving while impaired", in Illinois or elsewhere, so the charge you're more likely to face is reckless homicide, a Class 3 Felony punishable by only 2 to 5 years imprisonment. And even THAT charge has not been filed against you by the State's Attorneys ... yet.

We got to talking and I mentioned DIRockies and he thought he might try to make it. He also mentioned a huge BMW rally this weekend Top of the Rockies in Paonia. sure sounds like fun..mmmm...wish I could go....kinda getting sick of 100 degree days in a row with no break.

7:30am headed to Santa Fe, just past bernalillo, I tied in with a military guy (180lbs +), on a Buell Blast holdin' 80mph (even up La bajada) all the f'n way there.  My skinny ass could barely get one up to 90 goin' downhill, which felt like 150.  He exited at the armory just south of SF & I set up and gave him a  [bow_down].

That particular model bike is incredible, but, it seems that when you put that badge on the side of any bike, it comes with a douche bag certificate.   Accept for any Lorenzo has owned... He doesn't keep a bike long enough for the mail to deliver it.
