Title: Fun POS?
Post by: ducatiz on June 20, 2011, 04:13:44 AM
I know that this bike is probably crap

http://www.scooterdepot.us/250cc-street-legal-motor-bikes-sport-motorcycles-p-744.html (http://www.scooterdepot.us/250cc-street-legal-motor-bikes-sport-motorcycles-p-744.html)

But for $1800.. 250cc..300lbs...  I wonder how much tweaking can be done with it?  The frame is "stamped steel" too which makes me a little nervous..  It's a single which could be a lot of fun or a lot of headache.

ooooo!!

There's also a volume discount:
    * Buy 2 for $1,799.00 each and save 2%
    * Buy 3 for $1,769.00 each and save 4%
    * Buy 4 for $1,739.00 each and save 5%

That's almost enough bikes for an entire week!!   ;D

Cute, but that's what decent low mile Ninja 250s go for around here.

From the ad:
"It has scooter sized wheels and a proportional motorcycle body on top of it."

Why do I hear circus music . . .

Front Tire    110/70/17
Rear Tire    130/70/17

Those aren't scooter tires.  My Pantah has a 100/18 front and a 120/18 back

The frame is "stamped steel" too which makes me a little nervous..

weird that the pictures are of a white bike but that isn't a color choice  [laugh]
and it has ABS, at that price. How well sorted out is that I wonder?

ABS plastic body parts?

White used to be an option but they ran out of stock recently.

WTF no adjustable levers? For this price I would expect adjustable levers.

For $1800 there are a ton of options for used bikes that imo would be far better machines.  If you want a little 250 you can buy $1800 EX250s all day.

Nope Antilock Brakes, unless maybe they are ABS plastic brakes

Quote from: Cheesy Chinese Bike Manufacturer
High Performance Disc Brakes:  This 250 gas Moped features the fully upgraded ABS hydraulic disc braking system on the front, which delivers smooth stops in half the distance of standard. Safety concerns often put off potential scooter buyers, but with this breaking system there will be no problem stopping in an emergency or even in the rain. TheABS braking system allows the novice to brake as efficiently as a rider with years of experience. These advanced new safety systems ensure that the front wheel will not skid under braking no matter what the road condition, furthermore stopping distances will be dramatically reduced by over 8.2 meters.

Great beginner or economy bike. The way fuel prices are going, it is better than riding a scooter :) just saying!
