Title: Immobilizer solution?
Post by: iosteyee on June 21, 2011, 04:44:37 AM
Hello,
My name is Ian and I'm new to the forum and just bought a used 695 that has a 620 gauge cluster and is not synched.  I have red key, black keys, card, ignition, cdi and the rest of the 695, but the gauge is used from a 620.  The dealer can't help get it going in this form, the other option I found is Motovex.  Does anyone have any other solution to disable/ bypass the immobilizer permanently???

There is a way, but it is a hassle and takes a longgg time.  It requires going down to the local precinct filing the necessary paperwork to verify VIN title and then requesting the extended stay program.

alright, I'm going to try to be helpful...

As a new member with no history, there is no way for the board to know if you have stolen a motorcycle and are now trying to defeat the immobilizer or you got a bum deal by buying a non-functional motorcycle.

Without proof that the title is clean, best you could do is work with the dealer.  I guarantee you the dealer can get your bike running again, but it's going to cost you a OEM set of virgin gauges.

Wow,
I understand the mistrust as I have a badge of my own and am in law enforcement, thanks for the sarcasm though.  I guess proof might come in the form of pm'ing somebody a copy of my license and registration for the bike if there were in fact a more reasonably priced option to get the bike going.
