I need a pair of NEW front wheel bearings for a 2001 M750 with 25mm front axle. All Balls # 25-1351 , SKF# 6005-2RS
I know this is a long shot, but since I'd rather not take the car or metro to work this week, I figured I'll ask.
Guess which one is sh!t and you'll ween a beer! [evil]

The one on the right. My 750 front wheel bearing (right side) is eating through the axle. Last time I changed the front tire, looked at axle and thought "That ain't right."
That's right, you win a beer! [beer] I suspect that since the left bearing is covered by the speedo drive, less dirt gets in there. While the right side is more exposed so more dirt and faster wear.
I don't know how visible it is in the pic, but it's actually the races (metal frame that keeps the balls in place) that broke and started making some freaky metal-to-metal grinding noises! :o

i put them on my alazzurra (different size) about 8k miles ago.. I took the wheel off to swap the tire and inspected them and they looked fine. I always repack my bearings when i get them new even if they are pre-grease . Zero issues. Can't beat the price.
My mistake - it's the left (speedo) side that's shagging my axle. Say Pepe, those things come out easily? Did you have to heat up the rim or anything? Ducatiz, I like that price! I doubt I'll like the price of a new front axle.
A hammer and a long flat head screw driver. I had to go in from one side and find the hole between the bearing spacer and the bearing. Came out relatively easily.

i have a stinger bearing remover.. pop right out.
repack the new bearings, then put them in the freezer overnight. slide right in.
Thanks guys. Man I hate taking the front wheel off... How many miles were on those bearings? 22k on mine, I guess they're due.
Definitely more than 27K Miles on mine, which reminds me it's about time for belts and valves too.
Also did an oil change, engine was down to just over 3 quarts, noticed some weeping around the cylinders... [roll]
I'd love to get me some ceramic wheel bearings... [drool]

About $50 each ;D
That's actually pretty cheap compared to what I saw when looking at them for my bicycle a few years ago.
How do they compre to steel besides weight?

Supposedly ceramic bearings have longer life, resist heat better, and make your teeth shine brighter. The only issue with them is that ceramic doesn't hold up to impacts as well as steel or metal in general.
Also there's hybrid and full ceramic bearings. The difference is that hybrid have metal races and ceramic balls (runners?), while full ceramic have both made of ceramic.
Theoretically less weight and significantly less rolling resistance.
