Title: Question on a gap after gear swap
Post by: eichh on June 28, 2011, 07:16:39 AM
I went from a 39 tooth on my '01 S4 to a 37 tooth on the rear. That went easy when I bolted everything back up I noticed this gap, its even all around and appears dirty like its always been there. My question is, should it be there?

Doesn't look odd. You could pull the wheel and clean off all the surfaces - but the mount for the sprocket just drops into the wheel/cush drive - it's not the most precision fit one will ever see.

I'll confirm it's fine, I just checked both my M750 (replaced rear sprocket) and my SS900 (OEM sprocket) and both have that gap.  Don't worry and go ride.
