Over the past few rides if felt like the rear brake was getting soft on my 07 S4R, but it still had enough grip to lock up the rear. On my latest ride, I opted for a rear brake only stop (not sure why) and realized I wasn't slowing at all. Turns out, my rear brake lever can hit bottom and still not apply enough pressure. For what its worth, when on a rear stand manually spinning the rear tire, I can feel the brake apply a slight amount of pressure.
Is there a common solution to this? I saw there are a few adjustments around the lever that could be made, but it seems like a larger problem than this. Bleed lines?
Any info to start my adventure would be great! I purchased the bike new last year (leftover inventory) so I actually have some warranty left. It just takes ages to get warranty work done, so I would prefer to take it on myself if at all possible and not loose half the season.

Bleed & be sure there is enough fluid in reservoir. Also check condition of pads. If anything oily got on them they won't work properly.

What I do:
Remove the wheel.
Remove the caliper from the bracket and rotate it so that the bleed fitting is pointing up.
Put the caliper over a piece of scrap metal that I clamp to the disc, so it'll sit relatively still and the pads will stay approximately in the right position.
