Title: Magnets under the tank cover on a 696 Post by: ManaloEA on June 28, 2011, 08:17:14 PM Has anyone tried gluing rare earth magnets under the tank covers in order to use a magnetic tank bag? It just seems that having straps all over the place would look stupid and would be a PIA to attach and remove all the time.

But I can't see any other major issues coming up. You can just use some ferrous metal instead prob so you won't have random metal clinging to your tank.

Worked okay, but we ended up selling the bike.
She is using the strap on little wolfman tankbag on the monster. I sanded the plastic underside after locating where I wanted the magnets to go, used jbweld I believe.
