Title: m796 without mufflers

well, i took off the mufflers just to know what it sounds like...

Sorry but if I wanted a Harley, or a bike that sounded like it was rat bagged, I would have bought one. :(

well the mufflers went back on shortly thereafter, again, i was just curious as to how loud it was, turns out it was way louder than i expected

Not good for the exhaust valves, you can burn them out.

You'd need really short header pipes, or run no exhaust at all for that to really be a concern.

I wrapped the cores of my Termignoni mufflers with header wrap.  Got a nice, unique sound.  It's a bit loud on decel, but not too bad.
