Title: Anyone know of a reputable shop to have my duc worked on in Peoria Illinois area
Post by: MaaloX on July 06, 2011, 05:38:45 PM
I have worked and worked on my machine and it has been running great but tonight she left me stranded on the side of the road and I cant seem to find out why...So I think its time to turn to the professionals before I loose the rest of my hair. I am at a loss.

I went for a 70 mile ride with the wife on Saturday night with no issues. Cranked her up on Sunday to return a movie. Then today started up fine and ran to the gym, came out started right up then as soon as I pulled on the road it started to bogg down and then it died.  I pushed it into the parking lot and let it sit for a bit after not being able to get it re started...

Checked for a kink in the fuel line..no kink. Checked the gas, was a bit low so I filled it up, And now Im back at home and I have the battery on the charger.  I pulled the plugs when I was there and they looked just fine.. with a light grey look but I replaced them anyway.  Also verified the connections in the boots of the plugs.  It just sounds like its not getting fuel....There is fuel in the lines I can see it as well as fuel in the fuel filter.

The work I did this winter was the pod filter swap and I pulled the carbs and installed a new FP jet kit.  Replaced the fuel filter and other regular maint type O stuff.

The closest duc shop in my area is in Springfield and thats 1.5 hours away.  I love working on the bike myself and I want to continue but I am getting a little discouraged now especially now since its riding season.  :(

What an evening. I finally made it back home and have the duc back in the garage after 5 hours. Thank goodness for good friends!!
We had to put it in the back of a truck. I told my wife I did not want to leave it in a parking lot over night because I just would be worrying about it and I was right! It took just 2 of us to lift her up and off we were. IT took 3 minutes at the most to have it situated in the back and off we were. I was very surprised.

Any way. I did check for spark and I am getting spark on both cylinders so it has to be a fuel issue right?

I am just glad to have it back at home.
