Noticed a small crack on my carburetor today. No idea where it came from, but it's sitting right on one of the diaphragms by the needle jets.
I want to try to pick up some used carbs on fleabay or the forum but I'm not sure of the size.
Bike is a 2000 750
Mikuni 38 mm.
Check for serial number on the carb as some carbs have slight internal dkfferences. For example some 750s ran a carb with serial number, BDST 38B 216A.
You should be able to get replacement diaphrams or slides.
Another option is a second hand carb like a Mikuni or Keihin flatslides.
Sometimes ebay carbs are cheaper than new parts, and you get a bunch of spares.
Edit. Dont forget to look at the alternate parts topic at the top of this page. There is carb stuff there.
I wish i could get a replacement part but I think the crack is on a fixed part.

Correct me if I'm wrong. Anyways. Thanks for the sizing.
Is the crack on the diaphram slide itself or the cast carb body? The slides and diaphrams can be replaced.
on the cast carb body.
Sorry, I see it now (picture didn't download at first).
Yeah, thats unusual. Dont worry, someone will offer to sell you a set of carbs soon. You will have plenty of spares.
Haha thanks.
Any idea on a solid price? found a pair on ebay for 300. I just don't want to get ripped off or sold something less than adequate.
Theres a set of carbs in the for sale section, just spotted 'em.
