Title: Picture just for the heck of it Post by: JerryD on July 10, 2011, 10:38:49 AM I'm happy my bike is back and fixed.

Title: Re: Picture just for the heck of it Post by: fastwin on July 10, 2011, 12:26:30 PM It's also too damn clean. >:( Where's the clutter and boxes of stuff? [popcorn]
Title: Re: Picture just for the heck of it Post by: NorDog on July 10, 2011, 12:58:31 PM Your bike looks like it's crying; tears running down the floor. It wants OUT! [Dolph]
Nice garage. Not nearly as nice as what I would like, but FAR nicer than what I have. And the ivy frame is cool. Title: Re: Picture just for the heck of it Post by: JerryD on July 10, 2011, 01:31:03 PM The garage is a work in progress. Finishing the lower foundation walls and putting a proper floor down are on the list. Hard to find time (or permission) from the list the wife gives me to work on my cave.
Title: Re: Picture just for the heck of it Post by: fastwin on July 10, 2011, 01:43:51 PM Wives vs garages is a common problem. With all due respect to the great gals on this forum. [thumbsup] My wife for some weird reason thinks her car should always be in the garage. If I move it out to get in the attic or push one of my bikes over to work on it she immediately wants to know how long her car will be in the driveway. [roll] Like it's going to melt in the sun. [bang] She also wants to know why there are so many framed motorcycle posters hanging on the garage walls and I won't hang stuff in the house. My answer? Simple, if I didn't spend so much time moving her car in and out of the garage I'd have time to hang that house stuff. ;D That usually gets me The Look. [laugh]
Title: Re: Picture just for the heck of it Post by: iRam on July 10, 2011, 03:06:09 PM Man i should start working on my garage. Your photo highlighted everything thats wrong in with mine.
Title: Re: Picture just for the heck of it Post by: the_Journeyman on July 10, 2011, 04:27:56 PM nice! but your garage appears to be on the verge of being swallowed by the forest... It's a Harry Potter garage. He waves his wand an it appears out of the dense vines. No problem WRT the wife and the garage here. She knows I require a garage and that its all mine. [cheeky] Cages not allowed, but she can park her duc in the garage as long as she leaves the key ;) She loves to cook and I don't so she gets to do whatever she likes with the kitchen and related equipment (2hp blender anyone?), dito for the upstairs dining/sitting areas and the pet stuff. The TV/gaming room is a joint venture.
Title: Re: Picture just for the heck of it Post by: muskrat on July 12, 2011, 02:16:27 PM My problem is that I need a bigger garage because not having the wife's car in the garage would be grounds for a divorce

Solves a lot of problems. Title: Re: Picture just for the heck of it Post by: fastwin on July 12, 2011, 04:07:02 PM My previous marriage lasted for so many years due in part that our home had a large, detached 3 car garage that actually never had a car in it. [thumbsup] It wasn't AC'd but it had a small central heating unit and a TV. The ex always wanted me to install an intercom or phone line but I held out and forced her to yell for me from the back door of the house. That garage added years to our marriage. Only because I could hide from her out there. It was kinda like when we were seperated... only better because I was surounded by my bikes, tool boxes, bike lifts, air compressors, drill presses and gun safes! [laugh] Mmmmm, I miss that garage. ;)
Title: Re: Picture just for the heck of it Post by: nheaney696 on July 12, 2011, 04:17:50 PM All I've ever cared about having a garage for was my Ducati, Mustang Convertible and tools! Believe it or not, when I got married, I was the only one with tools!

My truck winds up outside when there are motorcycles, home improvement things etc in the other side. JM Title: Re: Picture just for the heck of it Post by: Kev M on July 13, 2011, 04:44:46 AM I have what I consider to be my bare minimum garage right now. 1-door, 2-car in size.
I somehow manage to keep 4 bikes, a couple of tool boxes, work bench, compressor, trash and recycle bins, and her Scoobie-Doo sheltered within. Most importantly I can get any bike out without moving anything. But I'd love a garage big enough that it had a dedicated work area, complete with bike lift. Perhaps someday... Title: Re: Picture just for the heck of it Post by: jsd2 on July 13, 2011, 05:12:40 AM My garage can comfortably hold 2 cars, a motorcycle, snowblower, lawnmower, gas trimer, lawn tools, large rolling garbage can, 2 bicycles (one mountain, one road), 4 whitewater kayaks and all the gear that goes with them, gas grill, some assorted lumber, 2 shelving units, and some assorted crap I really don't need. Both doors have electric openers. Since I only have one car right now I have more room than I really need. One of my friends/neighbors keeps his motorcycle in my garage because I have so much room. I never knew how much I would like a big garage until I got one. Not rubbing it in or anything.

pic later if you want :) Title: Re: Picture just for the heck of it Post by: muskrat on July 13, 2011, 06:29:18 AM My next house will have a 4 car garage if I can afford it. I'm willing to sacrifice half the house for the good of the bikes and my sanity. I have checkered black and white floor and a garage girls poster that my wife detests but every garage needs biker babes in it right? [thumbsup]
Title: Re: Picture just for the heck of it Post by: JerryD on July 13, 2011, 07:56:29 AM The garage girls posters are a definite must.

[thumbsup] Title: Re: Picture just for the heck of it Post by: Kev M on July 13, 2011, 09:33:26 AM Here's part of my garage set-up
(http://www.gigabikes.com/gallery/albums/userpics/10081/IMG_20110511_175726a.jpg) My little bro has me beat though - he's got an oversized (wide and deep) 2 car garage attached to the house, then he built himself a SIX CAR detached (3 wide - 2 deep, 3 doors) with a full automotive lift at the front center bay. That might actually be TOO much space for me - but I could probably learn to live with it if I had to. [thumbsup] Title: Re: Picture just for the heck of it Post by: fastwin on July 13, 2011, 11:37:11 AM I just wished I lived at my farm. I have two giant barns. You can drive circles in them with a John Deere tractor. But alas, I don't and have to share a very basic two car attached garage with the wife's car here in town. Your younger brother is is one lucky dude with a garage like that! [thumbsup]

[thumbsup] He's lucky in that aspect, but I wouldn't trade my life for his even for that garage... ;) Title: Re: Picture just for the heck of it Post by: muskrat on July 13, 2011, 12:23:02 PM well here's my little "man" cave. I've included my garage poster (better, skimpier pictures in subsequent pages) and an example of the dollies I use to move my shit around. Oh, and for you purists I covered the Harley so as not to offend the righteous people. :P

My wife and I are planning a garage w/ upstairs living quarters as phase 1 when we build. It'll be 3-bay, with a few extra feet of depth to have a workbench along the back. I bought the locally, at least they were made here but can't remember the guy's name. I've had them for over two years and they are great, heavy but great. Title: Re: Picture just for the heck of it Post by: Speedbag on July 13, 2011, 01:09:55 PM My attached garage is a typical 2-stall for the daily drivers. Meh.
The shop is 30x33' with one double- and one single-car overhead on the 30' side. Plenty of room despite two bikes, two cars, an ATV, a snowmobile, and the usual complement of shop stuff. It's fully sheetrocked and textured, with full-length attic. Title: Re: Picture just for the heck of it Post by: NorDog on July 13, 2011, 02:18:08 PM This was my man-cave back when I was trying to get through MMI in Phoenix. It was humble, but I love it. Lot's o' good times in there.
