Title: help with la to sf route Post by: MAXdB on July 10, 2011, 02:52:32 PM Hey everyone, I'm heading back up to sf tomorrow, monday, and wanted to take a longer more enjoyable route than just the 5 or 101.. can I just take the 1 all the way up? or is there a better route than that? I don't mind the length as long a it can be done in one day (<12 hours) and the biggest thing for me is having enough gas stops on the way (within 80-90 miles). Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! [Dolph]
Title: Re: help with la to sf route Post by: desmoquattro on July 10, 2011, 04:50:12 PM Hwy 1 will be brilliant, especially between Santa Barbara and San Francisco. That said, I can't vouch for gas distances. You should check Google Maps for fueling stops along the way.
BTW - What days will you be in town? We could always organize an impromptu bike night. I'll be up the in the area permanently so i'm looking forward to meeting everyone.. i was hoping to attend one of Doc wong's classes actually.

Title: Re: help with la to sf route Post by: Michael Moore on July 11, 2011, 07:12:28 AM Yes, you can take Hwy 1 pretty much all the way (there's a bit of weirdness near Santa Barbara, but there are some nice alt. routes by the lake, and through Santa Ynez.)
