Title: Cutting carbon fiber? Post by: gnarlycharlie on July 11, 2011, 09:49:55 AM I have a carbon rear hugger that the previous owner of my bike had on it. I took it off because it was big and kinda ugly, but now I have to put up with chain grease flying all up under my seat and making a mess. I thought it would be cool to cut the fender so it's smaller and doesn't hug the tire as much, but I have no idea how to go about cutting carbon fiber without making it fray and look nasty.
Has anyone had any experience with this? Any advice? Thanks! Title: Re: Cutting carbon fiber? Post by: DarkStaR on July 11, 2011, 10:58:54 AM I use a dremel.
Rough cut with whatever bit will work (usually a cutting wheel), and then finish sand. Title: Re: Cutting carbon fiber? Post by: OneWheelDrive on July 11, 2011, 12:31:08 PM Just wear breathing protection, that dust is no bueno.
