Title: M796 owners unite. Post by: Duc796canada on July 14, 2011, 01:43:08 PM Okay I just looked through the 696 owners unite post, some cool pics and upgrades. Well 796 owners. now that the bike has been out a year already, let's see some of your mods and pics. There aren't many 796 videos out there or pics for that matter other than the Ducati intro videos. Mine are coming. [Dolph]
Title: Re: M796 owners unite. Post by: Arachnosold1er on July 14, 2011, 09:14:40 PM I will post some pics of my bike as soon as I figure out how. I am waiting on my fender eliminator to arrive at the moment. It should be here Saturday. This will be the first real mod if you don't count peeling the stickers off of the frame. Next will be to get rid of the charcoal can and install the euro shroud. Exhaust is really the next big thing on my list and I already know what I want. I am still trying to decide which direction to go with modding my machine. I'm open to suggestions though. There are a lot of carbon parts available that would look really good but I have always considered carbon to be "ricer" stuff. If the carbon parts were more of a functional type mod it would be an easier decision but they are almost all cosmetic.

[Dolph] I just got my 796 and I haven't started modding because I'm overseas but have already ordered the Rodan box some passenger grab handles a new seat from Sargents. The bike (its used) has GPS already so I don't need to worry about that. And thats about it. But I would like to get a new fly screen or whatever its called. I have been looking around and some seem kinda big some seem almost the same as the OEM one. Does anyone have advice on one that doesn't look out of place on the bike but works better then the OEM one? Title: Re: M796 owners unite. Some gorgeous bikes on here. Been riding dirtbikes for the past decade, but this is my first street bike and I couldn't be happier with it. Title: Re: M796 owners unite. Post by: AKducati on August 06, 2011, 07:20:16 PM Thanks for the kudos guys.
Speedymoto on both the triple and clipons. Keeps things looking very uncluttered in the cockpit and were super easy to install. I attached the headlight using those two brass screws at the front of the triple as the headlight was left unsupported otherwise (I'm sure I just missed a part of the install though...) I like the idea of coating the pipes, but I've also grown pretty fond of the industrial look the pipes have. Next mod coming will be rearsets, just haven't settled on which yet. I really like those pipes. Are they really loud? How about compared to Termis? Jim Title: Re: M796 owners unite. Post by: AKducati on August 06, 2011, 07:46:05 PM I haven't heard the termi's in person, but from what I could get off youtube they have a racey, tuned sound to them. These pipes sound tight and deep, not boomy and loud. Folks that ride with me never complain about them being too loud, but they definitely turn heads if I open the throttle a bit.
Title: Re: M796 owners unite. Post by: Arachnosold1er on August 07, 2011, 10:28:23 AM I have been considering the CW cans for a while now. A lot of people say that they do not flow with the lines of the bike but if you compare the position and angle of the CW cans in relation to the tail, they are the same as the stock cans. To each their own though. I think I will be geting a set soon.

I heard it didn't for some reason... LOL. It does work on the 796. You can decide to splice the turn signals into your stock signal wiring, or just cap them off and just have the brake and light part only. Personally I'm happy with the stock light, it is already LED and I like my signals separate from my tail light, just me! Don't want any ambiguity to the drivers behind me who are already distracted enough. |
