I am taking a solo ride around Lake Michigan on my black 1997 Monster at the end of July; either leaving on the 28th after work of the 29th. Planning on taking 5 days to complete a nice and easy pace... Returning to Chicago on Tuesday the 2nd. If you see a guy on a Monster with saddle bags taking his sweet azz time, wave or say hello! I've been looking at a similar ride. I rode over to Two Rivers up to Door County last year and did a stretch along the West side of the Bay of Green Bay a couple of weeks ago. Nice riding. I've been thinking about riding up into the UP and around to Mackinaw. The Chicago, Milwaukee part of the ride is what freaks me out about it. I don't like riding in cities even in a cage.
If you want some company for part of your ride, need a place to bunk or want to meet up for a meal - let me know.
