Title: Tech Question: Fuel lines touching Vertical Head
Post by: NorDog on July 18, 2011, 11:42:38 AM
So, I've wanted to remove my belt covers for some time; I really like the open look.

But I've got two fuel lines running up the right side to the injectors, and in so doing they pass right in front of the vertical cylider's belts.

Not wanting the fuel lines to chaffe on the belts I ran the lines through the center of the "L" then turned the back to run toward the fuel connections on the bottom of the flange.

Now the lines touch the upper portion of the cylinder head.

Anyone else think this might be a problem?

I'm not too concerned about abrasion, but I don't know what to think about heat.

Any advise is appreciated.

Thanks,
Norris

The fuel line on my unmodified motor was rubbing on the top of the rear cylinder head. I wrapped some rubber cut from an old inner tube around the line and held it on with a coupla zip ties. That was 4 years ago, no problem. Yet another example of many stupid design glitches from Ducati.
