Title: Clutch growling noise?
Post by: DucRS on July 20, 2011, 09:35:33 AM
08 S4RS with Speedymoto  pressure plate and 18k fun miles.

Recently I've noticed a seal like growl or screech sound coming from the bike when I'm taking off from a stop. The sound is caused by disengaging the clutch. The moment I begin to release the clutch it makes that awful sound but the bike still runs great with no problem.

I cleaned  the pressure plate and springs and checked and filled the fluid but its still there.

Any ideas? Thanx!

Mine did this from worn plates.  No big deal.  As long as you're not slipping when you're under throttle, you'll be fine.

Just keep them clean as you're doing.  I found brake cleaner does pretty well too.

Oh, and make sure you don't have any oils seepage from behind your plates.  I had a bit and that caused some minor slippage.
